The secretary hesitated, "Ms. Dustin, it's quite clear that Mr. Leo doesn't have your best interest at heart. Why are you working so hard?"
Lately, everyone in the company could feel Brittany's impatience and eagerness.
She was hell-bent on winning over the Field family's business even if it meant taking a great loss.
This behavior was making the entire office uneasy.
"If he has ill intentions towards me, that's his problem. I only care about the contract," Brittany said, taking a sip of water. "You can go now."
The secretary nodded, "Alright."
After leaving the office, an executive stopped her, "What did Ms. Dustin say?"
"Ms. Dustin seems to be taking her partnership with Mr. Leo very seriously," the secretary whispered. "Ever since the incident when Ms. Dustin got angry in the office, she's been...different."
"Loraine Field was nasty to Ms. Dustin before. It's only fair that she'd want some payback."
The executive was a long-time employee of Julie Russell-Dustin, and though he supported Brittany, he felt her behavior was a bit rash.
At seven, Brittany and her secretary arrived at the reserved private room.
Walking in, Brittany greeted him with a polite smile, "Mr. Leo."
"Ms. Dustin, you finally arrived."
The man in the room stood up. Though Mr. Leo was over forty, he was in great shape and while not a top-tier hottie, he was certainly easy on the eyes.
Brittany shook his hand and took a seat.
Mr. Leo's assessing gaze landed on Brittany, "You seem to have put on a bit of weight since we last met?"
Brittany's pregnancy was not public knowledge and she was naturally slim. Dressed in loose clothes, it was hard to tell she was expecting.
"Yes, I've been feeling a bit unwell lately."
She got a glass of water, "Mr. Leo, I'm sorry that I can't join you for a drink. I'll have to toast with water."
Mr. Leo declined, "I heard, Ms. Dustin, that you've gotten married?"
"Yes, for some time now."
Mr. Leo had a soft spot for Brittany. She was attractive and held the reins of the Dustin Group, both of which were money-making assets. If he could marry her, it'd be a great deal.
He put down his glass and said pointedly, "Ms. Dustin, I've actually remained single."
Brittany remained silent.
His comment might have been a little too direct.
The secretary's face paled and everyone else had different reactions.
