After Mr. Carrol took off, Brittany dropped a line to her secretary, having the dough transferred straight into his account.
The intel Mr. Carrol unearthed was pure gold!
At least it proved that Julie wasn't a real Russell. So whose kid was she then?
Why was she in an orphanage?
Did the Russells adopt her?
Brittany was up to her neck in confusion until her secretary knocked, interrupting her thoughts.
"Ms. Dustin, Jason Field is here."
Jason?
Brittany furrowed her brows. Was he here on business?
"Send him in."
Brittany tidied up the papers on her desk, had her secretary brew a cup of coffee, and just as she put down the coffee, Jason strolled in.
"Ms. Dustin, got a bone to pick with us Fields?"
If it weren't for Isaac, he would've sought Brittany out ages ago.
Brittany, legs casually crossed, looked at Jason and said, "Mr. Field, have I done you wrong?"
"And how do you explain these business shenanigans?" Jason angrily asked.
Brittany had some nerve to pull such a stunt!
"In business, if someone wants to partner with us, what can I do?" Brittany smirked, "Mr. Field, if you step aside, they might naturally choose you."
"You're messing with the market!" Jason was clueless as to why Brittany was targeting him. Was it because of past incidents? "Loraine's dead. Why can't you let it go?"
Let it go?
Brittany stood up abruptly, eyes filled with rage. "Loraine caused me so much pain; I almost lost my child, and even..."
Words choked in her throat with tears welling up in her eyes.
Even killed her grandma!
All of this was her worst nightmare!
