It was already late at night.
Brittany was out like a light from exhaustion, and Isaac had hauled her to the bathroom, given her a clean-up, toweled her off, and then tucked her into bed.
Stepping out of the bedroom, he got a call from Nathan. "Mr. Salter, Noel's back."
"Is he beat and wants to come back?"
Isaac didn't expect Noel to flip-flop so quickly. It had only been a few days, hadn’t it?
"No, Noel said he’s bagged a job and wants to treat you to a meal."
"Pass the phone to him!"
Rubbing his temples, Isaac received the call. After some chatter, Noel's voice came through. "Isaac, I got a job. Quit riding my ass. I swear I’ll work hard."
"Weren’t you gonna start your own business?" Isaac scolded.
Just a while ago, he was talking big about starting a business, and now he had gone job hunting?
He knew it. Noel was impatient, unseasoned by the world, too idealistic!
"You took all my money. How am I supposed to start a business?" Noel was so pissed that his eyes were red-rimmed. "You did this on purpose!"
"Yep, I did."
Noel’s eyes reddened even more. What kind of brother was this?
"Isaac, you even admit it. I'm your own brother."
"All right, now that you've got a job do it well. Don’t create trouble for me."
After all, he was his own brother; he couldn't be too harsh.
"If you show results within half a year, you can pick any latest model of sports car.”
Sure enough, Noel on the other end immediately responded, "Isaac, you really are my good brother. Just wait and see. I will work hard. I won't let her down!"
"Her?"
Isaac frowned. "It's only been a few days, and you've got a girlfriend again?"
"What girlfriend? She’s just a friend."
Noel said excitedly, "Isaac, don't worry. I will work hard!"
After hanging up, Noel didn’t care about Nathan’s cold face and hopped on his e-bike and took off.
