The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 382

Brittany's face suddenly changed.

"I need some time to adjust my mood," William said heavily. "When I'm ready, I'll let you know, all right?"

Brittany knew William was feeling blue. His gentle demeanor was just his usual facade.

He might really need some personal space now.

...

Outside the ICU.

Carla watched Brittany walk in; curiosity piqued.

Who was she? Why did she get to go in to visit while she had to stand guard by the door?

"Mrs. Dillion, who is she?"

Mrs. Dillion replied, a little annoyed, "She's a lady friend of William's."

Lady friend.

This "lady friend" seemed to be something special, Carla thought.

Timothy was hoping for good news from Brittany, but she just shook her head when she came out, saying, "He says he needs time to adjust his mood."

Mr. and Mrs. Dillion exchanged a glance. "We understand."

Timothy couldn't afford to linger here. The company still needed him.

After Timothy left, Mrs. Dillion glared at Brittany coldly. "If you do not agree to his proposal, don't bother coming here." Just seeing Brittany made her skin crawl!

Brittany understood Mrs. Dillion's attitude. If she were Mrs. Dillion, she would also resent the woman who hurt her son.

"Mrs. Dillion, I'll come again tomorrow. You should rest well."

Brittany left the hospital.

Carla, unable to enter the ICU, also left. As soon as she stepped out of the hospital, she remembered Sydney's dinner invitation.

She dialed Sydney, and they agreed to meet at a nearby restaurant.

Sydney came alone, smiling, "Carla."
