She'd really gotten her wires crossed. Despite all the evidence she'd seen, how could she still be manipulated by Warren?
Warren, who once lost a lawsuit, was no good egg!
Realizing this, Brittany felt a pang of guilt. She got up and walked into the kitchen.
Isaac was cooking dinner. Hearing footsteps, he turned and asked, "What's up?"
Brittany came up to him, "I'm sorry."
Her sudden apology made Isaac sense something was off. He turned off the stove and faced her, "Why are you apologizing?"
He was clearly peeved.
Brittany suspected him.
"I met Warren. He said you might be duping me," Brittany said in a low voice. "I came to see you yesterday to see if you were lying to me."
Isaac washed his hands, took her by the hand, and led her out of the kitchen. He took her to the dining room and sat her down, "Tell me, why do you suspect me?"
Brittany was on the fence, unable to provide a solid explanation.
"Is it because you felt uneasy when I was away on a business trip last time?"
Isaac hit the nail on the head. "Bri, if it's because of that, I owe you an apology. I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most."
His voice was cool but sincere. "I didn't do a good job making you feel secure."
Isaac wrapped his arms around her waist.
Brittany instinctively hugged him back. His last business trip was indeed one of the reasons for her unease.
"Zakky."
"It's my fault," Isaac comforted her. "It won't happen again."
Brittany muttered an apology. Isaac knew the issue was resolved and heaved a sigh of relief, lightly holding her by the waist, "It's okay."
With irrefutable evidence, Warren was thrown into jail.
His daughter, Fiona, was forced to leave Grandeur Capital due to some issues with a few projects.
His son was spared.
