The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 387

She just didn't want to ask. She wanted to see for herself if Isaac had really been pulling the wool over her eyes.

Brittany wasn't a suspicious person by nature, but too many fishy things had been happening lately - surprise sweets, dropped phone calls... Although Isaac's explanations seemed bulletproof, something just didn't sit right with her.

She and Isaac had been hitched for almost a year now, and their baby was already six months old. But everything just felt too surreal.

To Brittany, Isaac was like a foggy enigma. Beyond his name, his granny, and a few surface-level details of his past, she knew next to nothing about him.

Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, and her emotions were on overdrive. Even a casual comment from Warren could send her spiraling into wild conspiracy theories!

"Kari, you head on home first. I can handle things on my own."

Despite Kari's concerns, Brittany assured her repeatedly that she was doing just peachy. Only then did she leave.

After waiting for about two hours, it was lunch break time.

Many office workers came out one after another, dressed in their suits. But even after the last wave of office workers had left, Brittany still didn't spot Isaac.

She took out her phone and dialed Isaac's number for no good reason, but there was no answer on the other end.

...

In the CEO's office.

Isaac just wrapped up a video conference. He got up to catch his breath by the window, planning to have Nathan Jarvis bring in some lunch.

However, he spotted Brittany's car parked below.

What was she doing here?

Isaac instinctively got up and took a few steps forward but then turned back and asked, "Did Fiona find anything?"

"Nothing."

With an expressionless face, Isaac said, "I'm off to lunch."

...

A man came out of the building.

Dressed in a black coat, he looked dashing and debonair. Behind him was a middle-aged man. The two were engaged in conversation, with him as aloof as ever.

In an instant, Brittany felt all her worries melt away.
