She didn't want to be involved in this any longer.
Isaac gently kissed the back of her hand, knowing she had softened, "Okay."
Isaac cooked dinner himself, leaving Brittany stuffed. After dinner, she retired to her room to rest.
Isaac, on the other hand, left the apartment and made a beeline to Nestor's place.
Nestor had no clue that the marriage between Brittany and Isaac was real.
Realizing he had screwed up, he planned to take his whole family to apologize to Isaac. However, as he was stepping out, a black car pulled up outside his house.
The car door opened. Nathan stepped out from the driver's seat, walked to the back seat, and opened the door. The man stepping out was tall and imposing.
Nestor was caught off guard for a moment. He quickly stepped forward, "Mr. Salter, what brings you here?"
Isaac glanced at Nestor, "Mr. Nestor, let's have a chat."
Even though it was a simple sentence, Nestor froze on the spot, speechless.
His family looked at him, stepping back.
Isaac stayed at Nestor's house for nearly half an hour. As he was leaving, Nestor's face was pale and his body was trembling; clearly, Isaac had found some dirt on him.
"Mr. Nestor, if I don't see an apology from you within an hour, I will make what we've just discussed and all the evidence you've seen public."
Nestor freaked out, "Mr. Salter, I was wrong. I will never do it again; please forgive me."
Isaac left with Nathan. Nestor's legs gave way, and he collapsed on the floor.
Isaac seemed to give him a choice, but in reality, it was a dead end.
His wife urged him to stand up, only for Nestor to slap her hard in return, "Shut up!"
His wife bit her lip, covered her face, and went upstairs.
