Hospital.
The surgery was over.
Brittany's anesthesia hadn't completely worn off yet. The Chester family had already taken her away.
Grace wanted to follow, but Lionel stopped her and said, "With everything that's happened, you owe us an explanation!"
Grace had a lot to say, but she couldn't speak. She had been taking care of Joie at the hospital those days, but she wasn't there for Brittany when it mattered most. She felt incredibly sorry.
Facing Lionel's questioning, Grace was filled with guilt.
"Bri is my daughter-in-law. I owe you guys an explanation."
Brittany was moved to the VIP ward. Hannah didn't dare to look the wound on her stomach. She spent the entire night crying in Lionel's arms.
2 a.m.
The anesthesia wore off.
Brittany hadn't woken up yet. Hannah didn't want to go home. She decided to stay with Brittany in the hospital.
Brittany felt like she was having a long nightmare. The dream was filled with strange, bloody, violent, and scary scenes. Those scenes made her breath hitch.
Suddenly, the dream changed.
Brittany felt like she had entered a closed space that was very quiet.
"Mama!"
A shrill voice rang in her ears. Brittany instinctively looked towards the corner and saw a little child slowly walking towards her.
The child looked like a mix of her and Isaac's features, which was very adorable.
He had thick eyebrows, a high nose bridge, and was wearing light blue clothes, chosen by her.
Brittany's heart trembled instantly. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Kyle."
The child walked up to her and carefully held her fingers. His expression was obedient but somewhat eerie. "Mama, why did you abandon me?"
"I didn't abandon you."
Brittany squatted down and instinctively hugged him, but she smelled a strong, bloody scent from him. A thick liquid stained her fingers.
