The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 139

It turned out that all that was just a dream.

At this point, Dad and brother had been gone for years, and Mom was still trapped in a mental hospital by Leah.

Allison got up, still feeling weak as a kitten. Those few cold tablets didn’t seem to do much for her.

She washed her face with cold water, opened the fridge, and, looking at the bare insides, ate a little something to fill her stomach.

Just then, her phone started ringing.

Allison looked at the unfamiliar number on the screen and hesitated for a moment before picking up. On the other end was Hertha's frantic voice: “Allison, have you seen Dylan?”

Allison suddenly had a bad feeling. “Auntie, what's happened to Dylan?”

“We have no clue. The court summons came down, Dylan got canned from the hospital, and those blokes are saying Dylan has to pay with his life, that Dylan committed premeditated murder. We don’t know where Dylan is; didn’t he go to you?”

Fifteen minutes later.

Allison rushed to the Huff family home.

“Auntie.”

Hertha was already in floods of tears. “Dylan has been excellent since he was a child, always acing his exams; he smoothly got into Healing Haven Hospital after college; he's always given his all in every surgery he’s done. How could something like this happen? Someone must be out to get him; it’s a dirty game of competition!”

Allison helped Hertha sit down.

Aherna didn’t go to work today either. His son, who was always high-flying, lost his job and was now facing jail time. How could he find the mood to work? He buried his face in his hands for a long time before recovering. “Allison, didn’t Dylan contact you?”

“No.”

Allison suddenly remembered what Lucian had said, “You need to break up with Dr. Dylan, or else you're going to regret it.”

Her eyes widened. It was Lucian! He must be behind all this!

“Uncle, Auntie, I’m going to find Dylan.”
