She was not up for his game. Wasn't it great to just take the severance and hit the road?
Without a second thought, Thalassa started packing up her stuff.
Just then, someone appeared at the door of the secretary's office.
Thalassa sensed someone coming but she was busy packing and didn't have the time to greet anyone. Without looking up, she said, "Are you looking for the CEO's secretary? I've already quit. You'll have to look for the next one."
"You've only been a secretary for a day. You might hit a record for the shortest tenure ever." It was an overbearing female voice, full of sarcasm and disdain.
That voice was grating to the ears.
Thalassa looked up to see a woman dressed to the nines in business attire walking in.
It took Thalassa a moment to realize it was Faye!
Wasn't Faye fired for betraying the Sinclair group's trade secrets?
And instead of being in jail, she had the nerve to show up here like nothing happened.
Thalassa remembered how Faye had teamed up with Isabella to frame her for theft and conceal the fact that Lysander was exactly the guy she met five years ago.
Her guard was up and her hostility towards Faye intensified.
She paused, and smiled lightly. "I may have been fired, but at least I can sleep at night. It's not like some people who take fat paychecks from the company while stabbing it in the back."
That was a clear jab at Faye.
And Faye wasn't deaf.
Her smug expression instantly crumbled, her pride taking a hit but she quickly hid it.
