The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 662

"Hey, isn't that Petra's kid? What's he doing at your place?" Victoria asked Cordelia, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

Cordelia shot Victoria a look that clearly meant, Drop it.

Victoria had never had a high opinion of Jayson. His mom, Petra, with her over-the-top antics and threats, had always been a nightmare for Cordelia. It was no surprise her kid turned out the way he did. Jayson's shifty eyes and sneaky demeanor just got on her nerves.

She couldn't understand why Ronan would adopt such a child. What was he thinking? It would only tarnish Cordelia and Ronan's reputation.

No way in the world would Victoria believe that this was Ronan's illegitimate child. Ronan having a kid like this? No chance.

"Victoria, Harold, dig in," Ronan said coolly, seemingly unfazed.

Daniella paused for a moment, taken aback. Was Mr. Evans hinting that Victoria and Harold were a thing? She had always thought Victoria was just Cordelia's good friend, helping out with Janice’s massages without a second thought.

Turns out, she was with Harold.

And after Professor Dustin spilled the beans about Harold plagiarizing a paper, Daniella felt a wave of regret. She had wasted her precious youth chasing after an illusion, someone like Harold.

Disappointment hit her hard.

That's the thing with crushes – when you're into someone, they're everything. But once the feelings fade, it's like tossing aside a worthless trinket. Falling in and out of love can happen in the blink of an eye.

Glancing to her side, she saw Emerson chatting animatedly with Ronan.

Compared to Harold, Emerson was miles better. How had she been so blind to not notice Emerson all this time?

But did Emerson see her the same way?

Daniella's emotions were a whirlwind of regret and embarrassment.
