After Ellinor finished speaking, she intended to bypass Marissa and leave.
Marissa, wearing a helpless expression, tried to stop her but was held back by Theo.
"Let her go!"
His tone was indifferent; no trace of emotion could be discerned.
Marissa was taken aback, turning her head to look at her grandson with furrowed brows.
Ellinor paused for a moment and then walked straight out.
Amid the chaos, Veronica chased after her. "Ellinor! Wait up!"
Ellinor stumbled forward, not stopping at the sound of Veronica's voice. However, Veronica caught up to her very soon.
Veronica spread her arms, blocking her path, her face grim. "Ellinor, why did you treat my grandma like that just now? Don't you know she's always been worried about you?"
Ellinor scoffed. "Worried about me, or worried about the child in my belly?"
Veronica furrowed her brows. "Of course she's worried about both!"
Ellinor continued to scoff. "Alright, cut the crap. I'm not a kid anymore; you can't fool me. You better go back and keep your grandma company."
