The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 160

Ellinor continued, "Mr. Blanchet, you've never truly believed in my loyalty to you! You had Collin arrange work for me so you could keep an eye on me and know my every move, right?"

Theo stared at her intensely, not responding immediately.

"Mr. Blanchet, I'm only here for three months and am a fleeting presence in your life. Please don't try to control me! If you don't trust me, I can swear an oath to you!"

Ellinor said, raising her hand resolutely, "I swear, in the next two months and seven days, I will not do anything to betray you, and if I do, I am willing to accept punishment."

After firmly making her pledge, she lowered her hand and turned to walk towards the door to the staircase.

But just as her hand touched the handle and opened a sliver of the door, it was suddenly pushed back by Theo from behind. The door was now tightly shut!

"Did I say you could leave?"

The door was stuck, causing Ellinor to frown. She had already made her pledge; what was this man still unsatisfied with?

A bit impatiently, she said, "Mr. Blanchet, don't act like a jealous little boy!"

Little boy?

Theo seemed to have heard something preposterous. He then leaned over, chuckling softly in her ear, "Jealous? Ms. Mendoza, do you think I would be jealous over you? To me, you're just a kid."

"But to me, you're a man!"

Ellinor blurted out in frustration. After saying it, she felt it wasn't quite right and wanted to take it back.

But what's said is said; like water poured out, how could she take it back?
