Chapter 285
This little girl took that guy down today with just a few words!
Theo leaned lazily against the door frame, hands in his pockets, looking at his wife’s smug expression with a gentle, proud look
That’s his girl, all right!
Theo walked over, “You should be resting in your room, why are you out and about?”
Ellinor saw Theo coming out from room 302 and walking towards her, she frowned, annoyed. “I’ve been sleeping too much, bored as hell, came out to see if you’re still breathing!”
Theo just looked at her, not happy, but seemed accustomed to her annoying ways; he didn’t get mad.
Thea’s big hand ruffled her hair like teasing her, “Hmm, sorry to disappoint you by still being alive, huh?“”
Ellinor sidestepped, skillfully avoiding his touch.
A hand that had just held another woman, she found it disgusting!
Feeling bored, Ellinor waved her bandaged hand nonchalantly. “You guys carry on, I’m outto–here!”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Theo naturally followed along
Patricia suddenly ran out, tugging at Theo’s sleeve, tears in her eyes, “Theo, don’t go, stay with me, I’m scared…”
Theo stopped, looked down at Patricia, didn’t respond directly but looked up at her brother Balfour, “My wife runs a tight ship, I am not easy to take care of your sister anymore”
Balfour gave a subtle nod, “Understood”
Then, Theo calmly removed Patricia’s hand, “Your brother’s here now, he’ll stay with you, get some rest.”
With that. Theo picked up his pace, catching up with the little girl who had walked far ahead.
Watching Theo leave, Patricia still wanted to chase after him.
Balfour held his sister’s arm, gently advising. “Patri, behave; he’s married.”
Patricia shook her head pitifully, “Bro, I know, Theo only got married to appease his family; he didn’t mean it…”
Balfour spoke softly but firmly, “Regardless of his reasons, he’s married. Patri, you’re a decent girl, don’t get close to married men, listen to your brother!”
Patricia’s face was full of tears, “Bro, I want Theo; I’m scared..”
Balfour felt heartbroken, he held her close to comfort her, “All right, your brother will stay with you, Patri, don’t be scared.”
Under her brother’s soothing, Patricia’s emotions calmed slightly, and her sobbing softened.
Just then, Balfour’s phone rang
He pulled out his phone and checked the caller ID. Then he said to Haillie, who was watching him, ‘Haillie, could you take Patri back to her room and keep her company for a bit? I need to take a call”
Haillie blushed slightly, nodding gently. “Sure, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Patricia.”
Watching Haillie take his sister into the room, Balfour answered the phone.
A steady voice on the other end of the line, “The DNA from those two unclaimed female bodies don’t match yours; they’re not your mother and sister who disappeared fifteen years ago
“Alive, I want to see them. Dead, I want to see their bodies. Keep looking
“Yes, sir!”
After hanging up, Balfour clutched his forehead.
