Just as Ellinor stepped out of the fast food joint, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around and sure enough, those guys were on her tail again, along with some nosey reporters lugging their cameras...
Hailing a cab wouldn't be a good idea now.
Given the whole extortion thing, taxi drivers might feel a bit too much solidarity, might not stay neutral. If they got all riled up too, then it would be a real pickle!
"We gotta leave!"
Ellinor grabbed Theo's hand and they started legging it...
She wasn't scared of those guys, they were just a pain in the butt, tough to handle, and she couldn't just start a brawl!
Plus, Theo's identity couldn't be blown!
His identity was tied to the entire Blanchet Corporation, so she didn't want to stir up trouble for him over something trivial.
They ran through the nearby alleyways, the spectators and reporters hot on their heels...
At a critical moment, Theo pulled her behind a pile of junk, hiding until those guys lost their trail.
Ellinor let out a sigh of relief, panting from the sprint.
Theo looked at her, "Why did we have to run? Exercising after eating, what if you get a stomach-ache?"
Ellinor blinked, feeling helpless, "What, were we supposed to duke it out with them?"
Theo gently scraped her flushed face with his finger, "You don't need to get involved in a fight, just stay behind me."
Ellinor frowned, "I don't want you to get dragged into this..."
Before she could finish, someone shouted, "I found them, over there!"
"Chase them! Don't let them get away!"
