"Any news from the cops?" Theo asked, cool as a cucumber, his eyes glued to his financial magazine.
Collin responded, "They're on it, questioning suspects and stuff, but haven't got any solid leads yet."
This sort of thing happens all around the world every day. Not exactly headline news or anything out of the ordinary.
Taking a sip of his coffee, Theo instructed, "Let's downplay the situation until the police figure it out. We'll respond officially when the time comes."
"Gotcha!" Collin nodded, but he didn't look as cool as usual. He even seemed a bit hesitant. "Mr. Blanchet, there's a rumor that the woman involved is... Ellinor."
Theo looked up from his magazine, his eyes suddenly sharp.
Collin seemed regretful, "I didn't want to believe it when I first heard, but our hotel check-in records show Ms. Mendoza did check into the Blanchet Hotel room 3201 this afternoon. And we can't find her now."
Theo paused for a bit, squinted his eyes and said coldly, "Don't jump to conclusions without solid proof! Find her first!"
"Right! Collin, you must be mistaken. Ellinor would never do something like that!" Veronica chimed in, trying to draw attention to herself.
Just a minute ago, she had received a message from Morgan, "Mrs. Blanchet, I've sorted everything out. Don't forget what you promised me!"
"Don't worry. I won't forget you if we succeed," Veronica replied, and chuckled to herself.
Now, she followed her plan and opened up her news app, clicked on a headline in the society news section that read, "A woman and a man suspected of solicitation caught red-handed in the Blanchet Hotel suite!" and acted surprised, "Look at this! The woman they caught is wearing the same clothes as my sister-in-law was today, and the guy with her has blonde hair. He looks just like the old friend she ran into at the mall!"
She handed her phone to Theo...
