"You know, this guy might be crazy, but he makes sense. Before he used his world avatar, we didn't know if he ever managed to form one. After all, forming a world avatar doesn't just need someone to be very talented, but they need to be very compatible with the laws of the world as well.
"Even if someone is gifted to a fault, they might not be able to form a world avatar. That's why all of us assumed it was his strongest attack back then. After that, he dealt a fatal blow with his world avatar, and that's how we found out he had one.
"It's like what that kid said. If he knew how to use a world avatar, why didn't he just use it back then? Why did he leave it until the end? It does feel rather odd."
"Hey, you're right! I don't think that's normal either. Isn't he afraid that his attack would end up being ineffective, and that all the earlier efforts would go to waste?"
Everyone started to side with what Fane said.
Rowan gritted his teeth and looked at Fane. Nothing good ever came out after knowing of his existence. This time, all the discussions began tilting in Fane's favor, much to his chagrin. He was even starting to tremble in anger.
The others were not much better either. At that moment, Percy had walked off the stage.
His cold eyes were fixed on Fane. Even though he did his best to hide his emotions, Fane could see he was doing his best to suppress his anger from his trembling eyes. Fane had hit the nail on the head.
However, the situation would get worse for Percy if he tried to defend himself, so he was forced to bear with it. He wanted to maintain a good reputation so everyone would admire him.
Fane laughed. Ever since those warriors tried to cause trouble with him, he was already mortal enemies with the Star Continent.
His conflict with the Swelling Tide Continent served as a reminder to Fane that arrogant warriors would never deal with things peacefully. They would try to push down everyone whom they deem was inferior. If those who were weaker did not bend to their whims, they would try to kill the weaklings.
Fane might not be weak, but he stood alone. He did not have a strong clan behind him to rely on, and he did not want to reveal his true skills either, so the conflict got worse because of that. Since that was the case, Fane had no reason to hold back with them. They brought all of it onto themselves!
Fane laughed and apathetically replied, "The reason he held back was simple: he can't let anyone else deal the fatal blow. He used quite a bit of his energy when he fought. If he used his strongest attack with his world avatar, he'd need a lot of true energy.
"His earlier attacks used up a certain amount of his energy as well. If he attacked with all his might and his true energy was depleted, it'll be hard for him to attack again. The others aren't idiots, either. If they took the chance to deal a fatal blow to the purple-feathered beast, they would greatly benefit from that. That's why Percy decided to hold back with his first attack!
"In truth, what he did wasn't wrong. It's just that I can't stand how much these people are bragging. He clearly relied on everyone else's strength and didn't go all out for his gain. Everyone attacked together to kill the beast, but some wanted all the glory for themselves. What a joke!"
Fane's words made perfect sense. On top of that, the results that they got from the Capture Hall matched what he said as well.
All the bragging they did before sounded worse and worse. Just like what Fane said, Percy's actions finally made sense.
Anyone else would have used such a method as well, yet these people bragged that they did 70% of the work or even all the work, while he used the strength of others, trying to take all the credit for himself.
