Xaria had answered his questions perfectly without any loopholes, but he still couldn't shake off the odd feeling he had about her. Still, while he couldn't shake off his wariness against her, the last thing he wanted was to alert her. So, he simply made up an excuse, which he felt was a little inappropriate after he said it.

That excuse seems a little ambiguous if one thinks about it carefully, he thought. As he expected, an embarrassed look washed over Xaria's face, and he decided to use this to his best advantage. "I asked the first question because I was worried that your work is too exhausting for you, and the second question was because I was concerned about your relationship with Andrew."

All of the doubts in Xaria's heart evaporated after hearing his explanation, and she thought proudly, Just as I thought, no man can resist me. It doesn't matter how composed he is, he still fell for me! She donned a coy smile as she said, "Dr. Nicholson, why are you beating about the bush to find out more about me? The doctor that I mentioned to you before has taken the bait."

On the other end, a hoarse voice of a man said, "Excellent. I've told you that no one could resist your charm, and I have absolute trust in you."

Xaria's spirits soared at the compliment from her superior. "Kami, I've seen the way he administered the needles with my own eyes, and he's truly a master! I think before we proceed with Plan A, we have to place this as the highest priority task at hand."

After a few seconds of silence, Kami said firmly, "Okay. It will be a huge merit under your name if you can recruit that man."

"I got it, Kami!" Delight was written all over her face. "I won't let you down!"

While she was on a call with Kami, Kingsley was driving toward Reene's place. When he arrived, she had yet to return from work, and he went straight to his room. Then, he threw himself on the bed, closed his eyes, and thought about things while resting.

Just as he was about to drift off the sleep, he heard Reene's voice from downstairs, calling out, "Kingsley, are you home?"

His eyes snapped open, and he woke up in an instant. The sound of footsteps coming up the staircase ensued, followed by his bedroom door swinging open.

"Kingsley!" Reene exclaimed breathlessly. "There's something I have to discuss with you."

Kingsley got out of bed. "Tell me what happened, Reene."

Her face was flushing with excitement. "You'll never guess what happened."
