The Vampire's Mate novel Chapter 5

Cassandra can't even begin to describe the anger she's feeling. She's pissed, way beyond pissed. Cassandra went to the classroom after talking to her mate, finding him already seated on a chair. She felt elated and tried approaching him, but Sebastian ignored her. He did it throughout the class. Even in the next subjects that they' were in together, he purposely ignored Cassandra.

"So you want this, vampire? I'll give it to you. Fucking idiot," she cursed under her breath.

After the bell rang, signaling the end of the class. Cassandra hurriedly went out of the room without waiting for Sebastian. She walked a fast-paced to the cafeteria. Every student Cassandra would encounter on the way would glare at her. When she entered, a bucket of gooey green with a pungent smell was poured over her head.

"How cliché," Cassandra muttered. On cue, Joanna, with her friends, walked towards her, smiling widely. Cassandra heaved a sighed and started removing the gooey thing on her.

"Wow, you look…disgusting," Joanna said and laughed, followed by her friends and the rest of the students in the cafeteria. Instead of hiding on the corner because of humiliation, Cassandra stepped forward with her head held up high and smiled sweetly at Joanna. She had a lot of pent up frustrations today, but she won't let Joanna get her.

"Is this all you can do, Joanna?" Cassandra mocked her. "I didn't know you were this childish," she added. Joanna's face turned red. Her friends were about to attack Cassandra, but Joanna blocked them with her arm.

"Bitch!" Joanna angrily spat.

"Are you referring to yourself?" Cassandra said while smiling and walked past them. The students inside looked at her while she was walking away. Cassandra had just verbally declared war against Joanna Redwood. She quickly went to the women's shower room to wash and change her dirtied and smelly clothes.

Cassandra threw her clothes and went out. She was glad that she saved Lisanna's sandwich earlier because she couldn't get back to the cafeteria and order her food after what she had done. Cassandra roamed around the campus and saw a humungous tree far away from students. She began climbing it, and when she was on the top, she closed her eyes and drifted to sleep.

Cassandra was woken up by the sound of someone strumming a guitar down below. She stretched her body and looked down, seeing a boy singing softly while playing the guitar.

"I know, you're there," he suddenly said. Cassandra smirked and jumped down.

"What are you doing up there?" he asked and looked above. "And you're a woman; why are you carelessly jumping down the tree," he added with a displeased looked plastered on his face. Cassandra raised her eyebrow and put her hands on her waist.

"Why do you care?" she sassily said.

"I'm sorry. I'm Storm Grim, by the way," he said and extended his hand.

"I'm Cassandra Louise Reese," she answered and took his hand.

"So, you are the famous Cassandra everyone is talking about," Storm chuckled. Cassandra looked at him weirdly and sat beside him.

"What famous? I am not famous, okay?" she seriously said. Cassandra glanced at the birds flying above them and hugged her knees.

"You didn't know?" Storm asked. He put his guitar on the ground and face her.

"Obviously," Cassandra snappishly said, which made Storm laughed.

"You are famous because you were the first one to do that to Joanna," he said. "You even dared to talk back to her," he added and picked up his guitar. Storm began strumming once again. Cassandra scoffed. The incident earlier had traveled so far and now calling her famous.

"Well, she's unreasonably mean to me," she said, remembering the gooey, smelly thing that had been poured on her. She pouted her red but thin lips. "But I don't care about her," she added.

"I don't know if you're brave or just plain idiot," Storm said. Cassandra glared at her, feeling a little bit insulted by what he had said.

"Hey, I have to go," she said. She stood up and fixed her clothes.

"Take care," he said. Cassandra walked away and waved her hand. It was about time for her next subject. She went to the room, and when she opened it, students began throwing their things at her.

"Come on, this is bullshit," she whispered under her breath. She breathed deeply, trying to calm herself down, and walked to her seat. They stopped what they were doing when the professor walks inside the room. Cassandra shook her head, but this time she was glad that Sebastian wasn't in the place with her. Even the most prestigious school Academia had small fries bullies.
