Ernest nodded and said with a smile, "Go ahead. Maybe he's waiting for you."
Celeste was stunned and she looked at Ernest. The meaning of his smile was deep, but he didn't explain it any further.
Celeste also smiled and walked upstairs.
The two passed by each other, and Ernest's eyes fell on Celeste. The moment they crossed paths, he saw the pink marks on Celeste's neck clearly.
As long as one was not dumb, one would immediately understand what those marks were.
Even after two days, those marks were still there.
Only a man and a woman in love would leave such traces of love.
Ernest narrowed his eyes and looked thoughtfully at Celeste's back. After a while, he withdrew his gaze and walked down.
Meanwhile, Celeste returned to her room first.
She hadn't come back for a few days, and her room was very clean.
However, the covers on the bed were moved.
Celeste was a little surprised. Somebody had come into her room.
Usually, the servants would not touch her bedsheets when they were cleaning. When she was away, she would cover her bedsheets and wash her own quilt when she returned.
Every time she left, she would put on a bed cover covering the bed to ensure a clean environment.
But now, the bed cover was wrinkled.
It was obvious that someone had touched something in her room while she was not there. That someone might have lied on her bed as well.
Who could it be?
Ernest and Maria wouldn't do so.
After all, nothing like this had ever happened before.
Was it Gary then?
She hung her bag and took a deep breath. What did a proud person like him want to do by coming here and hiding for two days after he had hurt her badly?
Celeste sighed softly and went to the washroom. She washed her face and looked at herself in the mirror. Her face was slightly pale because she didn't sleep well, and the dark circles under her eyes were a little heavy.
But apart from that, her body seemed to be different. The color of spring seemed to be burning in her eyes, brows, and lips.
She was very charming.
Celeste was different now after experiencing those things.
She was a woman now.
She stood in front of the mirror for a while and wiped her face. Then, she was ready to go out.
After a while, she arrived at the door of the guest room on the third floor.
In the next room to Ernest's, there was a room that was dimly illuminated.
Generally speaking, there were not a lot of people staying here permanently. So the room played its role as a guest room.
Celeste had been standing at the door for a minute. She hesitated and thought, "What should I do when we meet?"
"Should I pretend that nothing happened, or should I explain it to him directly?"
While she was debating, the door suddenly opened from the inside.
Celeste was stunned, and her heart flew into a panic.
She looked up into Gary's eyes which were also filled with surprise. He looked down at her. His eyes were deep and bright. No one knew what he was thinking.
Celeste suddenly felt a little weak. She panicked and didn't know what to say.
However, she did not want to be embarrassed, so she immediately smiled. The smile on her face was still so gentle, and the look in her eyes was bright as well.
"You're back home? I didn't know until today."
At the end of the day, she still chose to pretend that nothing had happened. She smiled and greeted him as if nothing had happened.
Gary glanced at Celeste. When he saw her bright smile, he sighed silently.
In fact, they had been separated for almost three days.
He had calmed down as well.
He wanted to go back, but he couldn't bring himself to do so. He was too ashamed of himself.
At that time, he was too impulsive. He couldn't control his emotions and had vented his anger on Celeste.
