True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1417

Janice handed him the key card to her room.

Gary took it and opened the door. Then, he pushed her in.

Janice turned around to look at Gary behind her. There was a pleading look in her eyes as she mumbled, "I was really scared this time around. They weren't looking for money, they wanted something else."

Gary froze and a dark glint appeared in his eyes. He grunted, "It wasn't right for you to come alone in the first place. Maybe you won't be so lucky next time."

"It's all your fault. Why did you leave me here?" Janice complained.

"Look," Gary looked at her calmly. After a long while, he said, "There's nothing between us."

Janice was stunned and she fiddled with her fingers in frustration, "We are friends. You're the only one I can seek help from here."

"Janice Simpson," Gary's tone was livid. He pushed the wheelchair to the side of the sofa and let go. After that, he walked to the sofa and sat down. His gaze was sharp as he looked at her.

Janice's heart tightened under his gaze and she felt even more wronged, "Why are you looking at me like that? It's scary."

Gary continued to look at Janice. His gaze was dark. After which, he spoke in a calm voice, "Let's talk about something."

"Go ahead," She nodded seriously and smiled, "Don't be so serious. I'm afraid."

Gary pursed his lips. His attitude was still very serious and his tone was also very cold as he declared, "You are not a person who gets scared easily. If you were really that timid, you wouldn't have come to England by yourself."

Janice looked at him cautiously. It was the first time that she had seen him so serious. She replied, "Well, I admit it. I just thought that since your family members are here, I was bold enough to come on my own."

"I've already rejected you," Gary grunted.

"That's right, but Gary, I know you're a very awkward person. You take time to warm up to others, and I'm used to your rejections. However, I know that although you may look unfriendly, you're warm and amicable on the inside. You will help me if I really need your help," Janice said softly with a pitiful expression on her face, "We're friends. I've always treated you as a friend."

"Friends should have their own boundaries," Gary reminded her once again.

Janice blinked gently. After hesitating for a moment, she sighed softly, "I know. I've always treated you as my big brother because I know that you're treating me well on account of my good relationship with Lowell. I was always aware of it."

Gary narrowed his eyes and looked at Janice for a while. After nodding, he suggested, "Janice, you should go back to Boston."

"Huh?" Janice was stunned, "But I haven't had enough fun yet."

"You won't be able to have fun in your current state," Gary stated, "I'm not going to accompany you either."

Janice pursed her lips as a sense of grievance flashed across her eyes. Finally, she gave in, "I'm sorry. I was too noisy."

She knew that he was being serious with her, so she could only apologize.

"I always thought that I had to be thick-skinned to become friends with a slow-tempered person like you. I forgot that you might actually dislike me for being noisy."

Gary did not say anything else.

"Fine, I will go back to Boston soon. Next time when I come, I will ask my friend to accompany me. I won't bother you anymore," she smiled again. It seemed that she had pulled herself together, but her eyes were still red and swollen because of crying.

"I'm going to send the wheelchair back, and then I'll buy you something to eat," Gary stood up.

Janice hurriedly said, "Could you wait a little longer? Please sit with me for a while. I want to take my time to calm down."

Gary pursed his lips and had no choice but to sit on the sofa once again.

Janice lowered her gaze, pursed her lips and smiled bitterly. It seemed that she was in a bad state.

Gary frowned slightly, watching Janice's every move.

He didn't say anything and just remained silent.

After a while, Janice looked up and said to Gary, "I'll send the wheelchair down later. You can leave first. I can call for room service."

Gary stood up, "Alright."

Without stopping, he turned around and walked out.

Janice also got up and prepared to go to the toilet.

However, her stomach hurt. She had just gotten her period and was terribly frightened by the shock she experienced today. As a result, the minute she got into her room, she felt herself relaxing and the pain kicking in.

"Ow!" She couldn't help but groan as soon as she got up.

Gary stopped at the door and turned around slightly to look at Janice. Seeing her hunched over and looking as if she was in great pain, he frowned instantly and walked back.

"Are you alright?"

In a flash, he came to Janice's side. When he saw the beads of sweat on Janice's forehead, he felt a chill run down his spine.

"Ouch," Janice felt a little embarrassed when she looked up at him. She flashed him a shaky smile and said, "Um, I'm fine. It's just menstrual cramps. You can leave now."

Gary was startled. He frowned and asked urgently, "Are you alright? Do you need to see a doctor?"

"There's no need for that. I'll go to the washroom and lie down later," Janice restrained herself and smiled at him, "You can leave now."
