True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1548

Grace seemed to have noticed Cindy's presence as well. She was satisfied to see Celeste talking calmly to her and the fact that they did not quarrel.

It seemed that Celeste had matured. She knew how to deal with Cindy right then.

Celeste did not even tell anyone about her miscarriage. That alone was enough to tell that she was getting stronger.

As a woman, Grace understood that pain.

With that, Cindy left.

After Lawrence was buried, the family headed home. When they returned to the Jones Mansion, it was already nine o'clock at night.

They had dinner in the hotel. Heinz and Grace both entertained the guests and acquaintances of the Jones family.

Hence, everyone had their dinner in the hotel. When they returned home, all of them went to take a bath and had a change of clothes.

Gary realized that Grace's attitude towards him was oddly cold. He did not know what had happened. At first, he thought that Grace was merely too tired after attending the funeral. However, he later realized that she was especially cold towards him.

She treated Ernest, Lowell and the others well, including Celeste. However, when it came to him, she immediately put on a cold and indifferent face.

That was probably the first time his mother had given him the cold shoulder.

He was puzzled. When Celeste headed upstairs to take a shower, Gary went to Grace and asked, "Mom, did I offend you? Why are you treating me so coldly all of a sudden?"

Grace did not feel the slightest awkwardness upon being asked that question at all. Instead, she admitted to it at once, "So you can tell that I'm treating you coldly, can't you?"

Gary's brows furrowed. What did she mean by admitting to it?

That surprised him, "Well then, give me a reason!"

However, Grace sneered, "Don't you know the reason? Don't you know what you've done? You should be well aware of it."

Gary's brows knotted into a deeper frown. He had no idea at all. Staring at Grace in bewilderment, he asked, "Do you want me to guess? How would I know what I've done wrong? Just tell me."

Glancing at her son's dashingly handsome face that resembled Heinz, she gritted her teeth and forced a single word through her tightly clenched teeth, "Scumbag."

Realization instantly dawned upon Gary. He frowned and swept his gaze towards Lowell, who had just entered the room.

With his eyes narrowed, he asked, "Did Lowell tell you anything? He did, right?"

Grace had to admit that her son was smart enough to notice the problem in the blink of an eye, but she would never betray Lowell.

She looked at Gary and berated coldly, "Why are you looking at Lowell? Does Lowell know what you've done as well? Great, let's ask him."

"So it's not him?" Gary was still suspicious.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but I have an idea of what kind of a person you are," Grace turned to look at Lowell and instructed in a low voice, "Lowell, get over here."

When he entered the room, Lowell noticed the two of them together with their expressions tense. His heart skipped a beat. A bad feeling rose in his heart.

He noticed it as well. Ever since Gary and Celeste had appeared, Grace's attitude towards Celeste had been warm and gentle, but her face immediately turned indifferent when it came to her own son. It was as if she was a completely different person.

In fact, she treated Gary coldly for the whole day. It was probably because she had seen through him, right?

Lowell had not expected that matter to be exposed so soon, so he immediately came forward.

"Grace, I was going to take a shower. Let's take a shower to wash our bad luck off, alright? What's wrong with you two? Why aren't you two upstairs? What are you still doing downstairs?"
