Alice immediately flared up and said, "But Grace, this is not a place to talk."

They were at the entrance of the neighborhood with people and cars all around.

She was still mad at Heinz for hurting Grace.

Seeing her strong reaction, Grace smiled and said, "Don't worry, it's just a short talk, Alice."

"If it's related to that man, don't say it," Alice said. "I don't think it's necessary seeing how he's treated you."

"I know," Grace nodded. She fully understood that Alice was doing this for her own good.

Gary rolled his eyes after sensing that something was amiss yet again between his mom and the father whom he had never met before.

Gary looked at Grace and came up with a plan. He said, "Mommy, he is the police officer whom I met at the supermarket. Since you know each other, why don't you talk inside the house?

Grace was in a daze. It turned out that the child Jensen met yesterday was indeed Little Gary.

Feeling surprised, Alice asked, "Do you know him, Gary?"

"Of course I know him. This man seriously lacks selfconfidence. Cut him some slack," Little Gary said. "Seems that fate brought us together again. Don't be too harsh on him, okay?"

Jensen's eyes lit up at once upon hearing that he could enter the house. They were obviously hiding something about this kid.

He had to dig into this secret.

Furthermore, being able to step into Alice's house was a great honor, at least to him.

Alice gaped at Little Gary's suggestion. "Why did you invite him to our house, Little Gary?"

"Little Aunt, we just hit it off after meeting yesterday," Little Gary said bluntly. "He's my friend now. So I'm only inviting my friend to my house. Would you like to pay a visit to my house, officer?"

"Of course I'd like to," Jensen nodded immediately.

Alice frowned and said coldly, "Who are you to enter my house?"

"I'm a friend of Gary," Jensen said while gesturing to Little Gary.

"Since you're his friend. Do you even know his name?" Alice felt irritated when she thought of allowing Jensen into their house.

"Yes, Gary." Jensen said.

"His full name," Alice said.

Jensen became silent.

Gary said, "Little Aunt, it's not important what my name is. He is my friend. Didn't you and mom say that you won't interfere with my social life?"

Alice was rendered speechless by Gary's words.

Grace as well.

Jensen immediately said, "Yes, I am Little Gary's friend. It feels like we've known each other forever," he said, not missing the opportunity the boy had given him.

Finally, Grace relented and said, "Little Gary is right. Let's go home. Please come with us, Officer Charm. After all, it's not a suitable place to talk here."

Grace was thinking about what to tell Jensen.

"Sure," Jensen nodded. "Get in the car, Little Gary. I'll drive you there."

"Okay." Little Gary headed straight to Jensen's car without a thought.

Grace and Alice were still standing by the roadside.

"You too," Jensen opened the car door and gestured it toward Alice and Grace.

Alice gritted her teeth and said, "Let's get in, Grace. Don't let him take Little Gary away."

Grace burst into laughter. "You're too on edge, Alice."

"I'll do anything for my nephew," Alice said while hopping into the car.

Jensen, who was standing next to her, let out a sigh.
