By the time Matilda was rushed to the hospital, Yvan stood there, watching her being wheeled in, his face etched with concern. Criss was by his side, trying to offer some comfort, "Physically, she should be fine. It's probably just mental stress, you know, the pressure building up over time."
Yvan didn't respond, lost in his own thoughts, while Criss continued, "You don't have to worry too much…"
Right now, Yvan wished he could be in two places at once: one part of him staying by Matilda's side, and the other racing back to the scene of the incident to find Logan.
Luckily, Matilda's unconscious state was short-lived. About twenty minutes later, she slowly came to, her eyes finding Yvan's immediately, "You… you're still here?"
Yvan let out a sigh of relief, "You're awake, that's good. I need to head back now."
"Wait—" Matilda's grip tightened on Yvan's hand, her voice firm despite the IV hooked to her other arm, "Logan is still out there… You must… you must bring him back safely…"
Yvan didn't need her to finish the sentence to understand the gravity of her words.
Matilda, always so strong and independent, hardly ever asking for help, especially not from Yvan. And yet, here she was, her plea making Yvan's heart twist in agony.
"Don't worry, I'm on it."
Letting go of her hand, Yvan turned and walked away, leaving Matilda's field of view. In that moment, watching his departing figure, Matilda was transported back to a time when his leaving meant heading into a future where she was included.

When Yvan returned to the scene, the dust had settled somewhat. He immediately sprinted towards where Cyprian was, noticing Declan already there, having arrived with reinforcements not too long ago. The two were engrossed in discussion, Declan even holding a walkie-talkie.
"Yvan?" Declan looked up, surprised to see Yvan back so soon, "You're back? Is Matilda okay?"
"She's stable, someone's with her."
Panting, Yvan asked, "Any word on Logan?"
