A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO novel Chapter 45

James drove Amelia to the office because he didn’t want her to drive.

The previous night, they slept in seperate rooms like they always did, but James wasn’t happy with it.

He had no idea why, but he wanted to lay next to her like he did in the club house.

The way she wrapped her hands around him in the middle of the night like she took him as her protector made him happy.

But he couldn’t bring himself to tell him that he wanted to cuddle her every night, so he let her sleep in her room.

Getting to the office, Amelia headed to her desk while James walked to the office.

When they were in the car, they both didn’t talk to each other. Amelia stared out of the window throughout.

James noticed how bored she was without a phone and decided to buy her a new one, since he destroyed her old one.

He got into his office, sat on his chair and went online to order a phone.

He found an IPhone X, which looked exactly like the one he smashed.

“I should get a better one for her.” He muttered to himself. He then saw an IPhone XS MAX and placed an order.

After paying and doing the necessary things, he switched on his laptop and got to work.

While he was working, he began to hear faint conversations in front of his office. He stood up and walked to his door. He could recognize the voices that were talking.

One was Amelia’s, and the other was Tina’s.

He opened the door and as he opened it, the voices died down. Tina looked at James and let out a faint smile.

“Will you please tell her not to interfere in my business?” Tina asked, and James looked at Amelia.

“I only asked her if she had an appointment, because it’s very early in the morning. I don’t know why she got so pissed.”

After Amelia spoke, James let out a soft sigh. “It’s fine, Amelia.” He opened the door, and Tina divulged a smirk at Amelia before walking into the office.

James shut the door behind her and headed to his desk.

“Why are you here? I didn’t message or call you.”

“That is exactly why I’m here. You didn’t contact me for days and that is very strange. So, I thought something happened and I needed to pay you a visit.”

She sat on the seat in front of his table, and he also sat on his seat.

“I’m fine, Tina. I’ve just been so busy with work. Thank you for your concern.”

Tina chuckled and shook her head.

“No, don’t thank me yet. I brought some good news. A news you always love to hear.”

James furrowed his brows as he stared at her. He began to wonder what good news Tina could say to him.

“Let me hear it.”

“So…” she uttered with excitement and sprang to her feet.

“There is this girl that just joined the team! Gosh, James, she is super duper hot! Trust me, she beats the standard of any girl I have ever given you, the sweetest part is that, you don’t have to pay much. She is our number one now…”

“Hold on, Tina… the good news you want to share is about a girl that joined your team?” James asked, making Tina feel ridiculous.

“Of course! What were you expecting? Isn’t that what you love to hear? You couldn’t contact me for a girl because of work, so I decided to bring her to you. Tell me when you need her and I’ll make it happen.”

James heaved a sigh and lowered his head. ‘Things are starting to make sense at home, James. You don’t want to ruin that, do you?’

“James? Why are you taking so long to give me an answer?” Tina asked after seeing the hesitation on his face.

“I don’t think I need a woman for now, Tina. I have lots of things on my mind, work, home…”

Tina let out a little laugh at the mention of ‘home’, causing James to stop abruptly.

“What?” He asked.

“Home? James, when did you start thinking about home?” She asked sarcastically.

“Tina, If I needed a woman, I would have contacted you, you know this very well. For now, I don’t need one.”

Tina narrowed her gaze at James, and he looked at his computer and continued working.

“When last did you have sex?” She asked, and James raised his eyebrows and looked up.

“Tina! What kind of question is that? How is that your business?”

“Well, don’t blame me! You don’t stay more than two or three days before contacting me before. What has happened? I know you to have a very high sex drive…”

The door opened all of a sudden, and Amelia walked into the office. Tina stopped talking and looked back.

Amelia was eavesdropping since the beginning of their conversation.

She was happy James was beginning to lose interest in carrying women, but she was beginning to run out of patience with Tina, trying to pull him into that miserable act again.

She was scared that Tina would end up changing his mind, so she quickly intervened.

“Mr. James, here are the documents you are to sign before noon.”

She lifted the files in her hand and walked to James’ desk. She stood next to where he sat and placed the file on the table.

She was so close to him that he could perceive the scent of her hair shampoo. He gulped hard and looked up to see Tina staring at him.

“Tina, can we talk some other time, please? As you can see, I’m about to get very busy. I’ll call you if I need anything.”

Tina arched her right eyesbrows and bounced her head. She could guess why James was acting weird.
