James grabbed Elena by her shoulders and pushed her away from him.
“Are you crazy?!” He yelled and cleaned his lips with disgust.
Elena grinned widely and let out a little evil laugh. “Why are you so disgust? This isn’t the only part of my body your lips has touched.”
“Enough, Elena! I don’t want to hit you and that is why I’m still this calm. If you push me too much, I promise you won’t get out of here alive! Get the hell out, right now!” He smacked.
His fair face turned red in rage, and Elena felt shivers run down her spine.
“You still want to act stubborn, after telling you what I want to do, right? Then, I’ll go ahead and just do it.”
Elena turned to leave and James hurriedly grabbed her by the arm.
“You are not going to do anything funny, Elena. I promise you that if you don’t drop this stupid act of yours, I’ll make you go through pains, I’ll make you disappear.”
Elena’s eyes heated as she listened to James’ threatening words. “So you are going to kill me because of her, hun? You are going to turn into a criminal?”
“I’ll do anything to stop this craziness of yours! She is my wife, Elena! The earlier you know this, the better. Delete that stupid clip before tomorrow night or you’ll be begging me to spare your life.”
Elena scoffed and broke into an hysterical laughter. “Really? You think that is going to scare me?” She stated, trying to break her arm loose.
“Oh, please. I don’t need you to be scared. You don’t I just done threaten people, I do it. Because I have power over the rules that are going to put me behind bars… now, get the hell out!”
James dragged her mercilessly to the door and threw her out. As he threw her out of the door, they both saw a bag on the floor.
James gasped and let go of Elena hastily. He picked up the bag and looked in it. He found a broken glass of wine, rose petals and a wristwatch in it.
‘Amelia.’ Her name rang in his head and his heart skipped a beat.
Elena burst into laughter again, after realizing what had happened.
“Looks like your dear wife found out about us. What are you going to do now, James?” She pouted.
“Get the hell out of here!” He spat. He picked up the bag and ran to the gate.
“Amelia!” He called out, but all he got as a response was the echo of his voice.
“Amelia!” He called again. His heart was thumping very fast and hard against his chest.
He knew she must have misunderstood what she saw, and he wanted to explain to her before she overthought it.
“Don’t bother, James! She is long gone already. At least now she knows what kind of person you are.” Elena added as she walked past him and moved out of the gate.
She turned to look at him again and blew a kiss to him before leaving.
James clenched his fists and jaws and lowered his head. He looked down the dark streets but couldn’t see any traces of Amelia.
He hurried back to the living room and picked up his phone. He wanted to call his mother. He put a call across to her and she waited for her to answer.
Helen answered the phone and started talking.
“James, why are you calling now?! Have you showered? Amelia should be home now. You should get ready. Don’t worry, she told me all about it. I shouldn’t be telling you, but I’m so excited about…”
“Mom!” James called, and a dead silence from Helen’s end set in.
“What’s wrong?” She asked in a calm and concerned manner. The way he called her told her that he wasn’t happy.
“Amelia is gone! Please if you comes back to you, let me know, okay?”
“Wait… hold on! I don’t understand you, okay?! She already left for your house. She should have arrived.”
“She came back and left! She must have misunderstood.”
“Misunderstood? James, what did you do this time?”
“I didn’t do anything, I swear. Elena came over and she kissed me. It’s complicated mom, but I swear I didn’t kiss her back, it was so sudden.”
“James! Are you crazy! Why would you put yourself in such situation?! Amelia was so excited to see you! She even bought things as a present for you.”
“I know! I found it at the door! She didn’t wait to let me explain! Elena was trying to blackmail her, okay? I couldn’t tell her because I didn’t want her to start thinking about it. You need to believe me, Mom. I swear!”
Helen went silent for some minutes, James’ mood of talking told her how serious he was.
“Mom, please say something! I’m freaking out. I didn’t do anything!” James grabbed his hair as he spoke.
“Okay… calm down, okay? Try calling her or texting. Tell her you are ready to explain and apologize.”
“She doesn’t have a phone yet! I got her another one but I haven’t been able to give it to her because of what happened. I don’t know what to do.”
“James, I’m confused as well. But, why don’t you just stay calm for some time, okay? If she comes back here, I’d call you immediately.”
