A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO novel Chapter 60

Amelia got ready to leave for Freddie’s house. She got to the living room and met James all dressed up too.

“I’m going with you.” He said, and she shook her head and walked up to him.

“Babe, you have a meeting with an important client in thirty minutes time. You should go there. I can sort this out myself.” She said to him, and he shook his head.

“No, I want to be with you on this one, okay? You don’t have to do it on your own.”

Amelia exhaled and cupped his face in her palms. “Trust me, Freddie. I can do this alone. I’ll tell you everything when I get back. I won’t keep a single thing from you.”

James lowered his head and slowly nodded.

“You’re telling me everything, without removing anything, okay?” He uttered, and she bounced her head.

“I promise.” She lifted her pinky finger and wagged it, waiting for him to touch it with his.

Instead he pulled her hand to his mouth and planted a soft kiss on it. “You smell so good.” He mumbled against her skin, sniffing hard.

Amelia laughed and moved her hand from his. “Don’t start. You’re going to be late.”

James nodded and hurriedly picked up his briefcase. “If anything goes south, call me immediately.”

He made the telephone sign, and she shook her head with a smile. “Bye!” She responded, waving at him.

“I love you!” He uttered as he rushed to the door.

“I love you too!” Amelia responded with a large smile.

Soon she heard him drive out of the compound, and she went ahead to pick her handbag and car keys. She also stepped out of the house and headed to her Mercedes Benz car.

She threw her bag to the other front seat and sat in it. She pulled out her phone from her bag and texted Freddie; “I’m on my way to your house.”

She dropped her phone on the seat and ignited the engine. She drove out of the compound too and hit the road.

She drove into Freddie compound, parked her car and stepped out of it majestically and powerfully. She could feel she felt so much stronger than she had always been.

‘I am not going to let anyone pull me down anymore. Never!’ She told herself.

She took her bag and held her phone in her other hand. She checked the screen to see if Freddie already responded, but she saw nothing.

She sighed and shook her head as she approached the main door. She didn’t bother knocking, so she just opened the door and stepped into the large living room.

She took a quick scan of the living room with her eyes and noticed there were no movements.

‘Where is everyone?’

“Mrs. Alba!” She called and walked to the kitchen. It was the same thing there too. Empty.

‘Mrs. Alba too is gone?’

“Uncle Freddie?” She called as she began to approach the stairs. She lifted her phone and put a call across to him as she headed to his room.

His phone rang and rang but he didn’t answer it.

“What the hell? Didn’t he say it was cool coming today?” She muttered, and let out a sigh of frustration.

She texted him again; “You should have told me you have work to do today. I’m going back home now. You will be visiting me the next time

She was about to throw her phone into her bag when she heard footsteps approach her slowly.

She turned to look abruptly and to her greatest surprise, she saw Hudson standing in front of her.

“Hudson.” She called, wondering when he got back home.

“You look so surprised, Mrs. Parker.” He responded, scrutinizing her body with his eyes, from head to toe.

“Well, I am. I wasn’t aware anyone was home.” She responded bravely, letting out a slight smile.

He chuckled and started to move closer to her. “I must confess, you have changed so much. Looking so very beautiful.” He muttered.

Amelia’s heart skipped a beat at every step he took closer to her, but she refused to show him her fears, or he would take advantage of her as he has always wanted to.

“Well, we can’t stay the same forever. It was nice meeting you. I have to leave now.”

She moved to his side and walked briskly to the stairs.

“Why are you in such a hurry? We should catch up, don’t you think? Especially now that you look more beautiful and womanly.”

Hudson followed behind her, rushing down the stairs after her. Amelia could smell the danger ahead and hurriedly dialed James’ number. He was the only one she could think of.

“I’m still talking to you!” Hudson roared and grabbed her hand from behind. He yanked her towards him, and she fell on his chest.

“You like that, don’t you?” He muttered with a menacing laughter.

“Let me go, Hudson!” Amelia struggled with him. She managed to get one of her hands out of his firm embrace and didn’t hesitate to throw a slap on his face.

“There is nothing to catch up on! You are sick!” She yelled and pushed him off with that same hand.

Hudson’s eyes widened in shock and he brushed his pulsing cheek. Amelia began to run to the door as soon as she was released.

“Wow! This is exactly how I love my women. Fierce and sexy.” Hudson responded and ran up to her at full speed.

Amelia opened the door to run out, but she wasn’t fast enough. Hudson slammed the door shut and pulled her backward with her hair.

Amelia staggered backward and quickly gained her balance before she could fall and hurt herself.

“You’re insane, Hudson! Why are you doing this?!” She yelled as tears began to stream down her cheeks.
