"Are you the bodyguard sent by Andrew Security?" Harry Mendoza frowned and inquired as he looked at the tall young man wearing a security guard uniform standing in front of him.
"Yes," said the man, who appeared to be in his late twenties or early thirties.
"Did the security company inform you of your responsibilities?" Harry went on.
"I should keep my boss safe and secure 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I should also take bullets for my boss if necessary." The man replied, his voice flat and his face almost expressionless, as if taking a bullet was as natural to him as eating and drinking.
"That's correct. I read your profile, which was sent to me by your company. You've served in the military, but how are your physical abilities? I don't want someone who only appears to be strong." Harry persisted in his inquiry.
"Mr. Harry, you are welcome to put me to the test. But first, I'd like to ask you a question. How much do you intend to pay me per month if you are satisfied with my physical abilities?" The man looked at Harry and wondered aloud.
"This is something I should discuss with your company. Didn't they warn you?" With a frown, Harry inquired.
"I apologize. I haven't worked for a security firm in a long time, so I'm still unfamiliar with the rules for specialized tasks like this. It would cost me 8,000 per month, based on the price the security company has quoted me. That, in my opinion, is far too low. Mr. Harry, I believe the monthly fee you offered to the security company should be more than $8,000. As a result, I don't want the security company to take the price difference from me. I'll inquire once more. If you are satisfied with my services, could you please pay me directly what you planned to pay the security company? I will enter into a separate agreement with your company." The man stated flatly.
"You have a voracious appetite for money, but I'd like to see what you're capable of first." After that, Harry picked up the phone on the desk and said, "Department of Security? Request that some of your best employees go to the top floor."
"I hope your abilities are as strong as your self-assurance. Let's go; I'll drive you there." As Harry walked out of the office, his secretary hurriedly followed.
The man followed them out with a cold smile.
They rode the elevator to the top floor and then climbed the stairs to the roof. Five men in security guard uniforms and carrying pagers had already arrived. They were all tall, strong young men, just like Harry said.
"Mr. Harry, I've summoned all six personnel on duty. What are your guidelines?" As soon as he saw Harry, a man in a suit ran over and said humbly.
