"She's missing?"
Veronica frowned, feigning ignorance. "What happened? Wasn't she always with Hendrey?"
As she spoke, Eleanor's gaze remained fixed on Veronica, attempting to decipher her thoughts through her subtle facial expressions.
However, she couldn't discern anything from Veronica's face even after a while.
"I heard she went missing yesterday. She hasn't been found yet."
"This is the hidden clan. It's your territory. Can't you locate her?" Veronica asked in return.
"Heh."
Eleanor leaned back on the bed, supporting her head and smiling faintly. "We invited her to participate in the hunting ceremony earlier, but she suddenly disappeared. I wonder if someone is trying to deceive us or if she ran away out of fear."
She deliberately tried to extract information from Veronica.
Veronica remained composed, pondering for a moment. "Both are possible."
"Yes, that's what I think too." Eleanor realized it was unlikely to obtain information from Veronica, so she waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it. Let's not search for her anymore."
She then got up from the bed and walked around the screen before she came to a stop in front of Matthew. "Here, take this. There's no signal once you enter the mountains, and you're not allowed to bring a phone. If you encounter danger, use this to send me a signal. I'll come to rescue you as soon as possible."
Eleanor handed Matthew a signal flare that resembled a lighter.
Looking at the object in her fair and delicate palm, Matthew hesitated for a few seconds. He initially wanted to refuse, but he caught a glimpse of the woman behind the screen from his peripheral vision.
In the end, he accepted it. "Thanks."
Anything could happen once he was in the mountains. This item might come in handy.
Due to geographical reasons, the mountains of the hidden clan were unable to establish signal stations, so there was no network at all.
