When Mia was mentioned, Veronica immediately thought of Eviette. "She wouldn't dare," she said.
"It's good if she doesn't," Matthew replied. His face turned slightly cold as he continued, "If there's a next time, I won't let her off easily."
Veronica's eyes sparkled with a glimmer of light, unsure of where to begin. She turned and sat down on the couch, lazily hugging a pillow, and said, "Let's talk about Eviette."
Avoiding the issue wouldn't solve any problems. Veronica believed that they needed to have a serious conversation about Eviette.
Matthew glanced at his wristwatch. It was already one in the morning. If they were to discuss Eviette again, they probably wouldn't be able to sleep until three.
Everyone had to return to Bloomstead the next day, and they all had to wake up early to catch a flight. After considering the situation, he suggested, "We've had a busy day. Let's rest early and discuss her after we return to Bloomstead, okay?"
Veronica, who had been looking down, lifted her eyes slightly, revealing a hint of disappointment. After exchanging a glance with Matthew, she smiled slightly and said, "Alright."
She tossed the pillow aside and got up to go to the bedroom, saying, "I'll go take a bath and sleep first."
Matthew noticed that Veronica was in a bad mood. He knew she was upset about Eviette. After some thought, he decided to have a meaningful conversation with her about Eviette after she finished her bath.
Half an hour later, Veronica finished her bath and said to Matthew, "The water temperature is just right. You should go take a bath now."
"Okay," he replied. Matthew placed his phone and wallet on the table, took off his coat and pants, and went to the bathroom.
Veronica sat down on the bed, lifted the quilt, and crawled into bed. Even though the air conditioning was on in the room, she still felt the warmest in bed.
Just then, Matthew's phone rang. Veronica picked up the phone, intending to call Matthew to answer it.
