Melvin had a fondness for Eviette, but he wasn't as possessive and deeply in love with her as she was with Matthew. He patiently tried to reason with her, only to find that Eviette was not receptive to his words.
"If it weren't for Veronica, he would definitely like me," she said confidently, leaving Melvin unsure of where she got such certainty.
With a headache, he brushed his forehead and said, "Eviette, you need to calm down."
"Calm down? Are you starting to get tired of me too?"
Eviette had the appearance of a lady, seemingly gentle and elegant, with an ethereal temperament. However, her temper was not something ordinary people could tolerate.
Melvin understood her, but liking her meant accepting all her flaws. "Don't let your thoughts run wild. Where are you? I'll come to you," Melvin said, somewhat worried about Eviette.
"No need, you're all the same," she angrily complained and hung up the phone.

Back on the set, Veronica was fully engrossed in filming. When she took a break in the afternoon, she received a call from Colt.
"What's up?" she asked as she sat in the rest area, taking a few sips of hot water. Having been reciting lines all the time, she was already parched and very thirsty.
"Miss Murphy, I just received some news. Mr. Kings is facing a major problem. Many companies have terminated their cooperation with them. The company is now in a dangerous situation," Colt informed Veronica.
Since Veronica's warning to him last time, Colt no longer dared to hide anything from her, nor would he help Matthew conceal anything.
He was now working under Veronica. If he had angered Veronica, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
