Caught in Love With My Previous CEO novel Chapter 51

Chapter 51 She is Not Suitable to Accompany You

The stern and disdainful gaze of Samuel was filled with coldness as he said in a displeased tone, "You've only been gone for a few days and you've lost five years' worth of things?"

Tina was speechless. She had been with Samuel for five years and had experienced late-night visitors before, but it was rare.

"Who did you see?" she couldn't help but ask.

Samuel buttoned up the last button, stood in front of the mirror, his posture upright, exuding a sense of pressure even without speaking.

He raised his chin and said, "Benjamin."

"Benjamin?" Tina was shocked, almost dropping the blanket she was holding.

Samuel didn't refute, considering it as an affirmation.

Tina fell silent, feeling a bit worried. Benjamin was a retired vice-state-level figure in his seventies. It was late, and if something happened to him while receiving Samuel, it would be a major event.

"Mr. Langford, Benjamin has a history of cerebral infarction. Isn't it inappropriate to meet him so late?"

Without turning back, Samuel walked to the sofa in big strides and made another phone call, instructing someone to prepare the documents.

After making the call, he noticed that Tina was still looking at him and casually said, "I'm not the only one meeting him."

Tina understood. Most likely, Benjamin held the decision-making power for some important matters, and there were a group of people waiting to be received, including Samuel.

Samuel changed into his clothes and went outside. Soon, someone came in, and Tina could tell from the voice that it was John.

"Mr. Langford, the people from the Grayson family have already left. Alexander and his son, Ethan, are inside now."

Samuel's voice was calm as he asked, "Did they meet?"

"They only had a brief encounter at the entrance, no interaction," John answered.

Samuel remained silent.

Tina got out of bed, quickly found a bathrobe to put on, and then leaned against the door to eavesdrop.

Samuel seemed about to leave and asked John to prepare.

Tina hurriedly straightened up, wanting to run away, but it was too late. Samuel pushed open the door and caught her eavesdropping.

He gave her a cold glance, entered the room, picked up the watch he had just taken off, and said nothing.

With her professional instincts kicking in, Tina couldn't help but advise, "Mr. Langford, Benjamin is old, and cardiovascular diseases are strictly prohibited from staying up late. If you have business matters to discuss, it's best to pay attention to the timing."

Samuel glanced at her, his eyes filled with an indescribable meaning.

After thinking for a moment, Tina continued, "Also, Caitlyn is not suitable to accompany you."

Samuel's actions paused for a moment as he lifted his eyelids. "Who is suitable if not her?"

"Dale and John both can." Tina didn't hesitate to say, "Benjamin's deceased wife was a beloved daughter of Mr. Wyatt. She had a strong personality and disliked timid and hesitant girls, so does Benjamin. It's really inappropriate for you to bring a beautiful female secretary over so late at night."
