Caught in Love With My Previous CEO novel Chapter 53

Chapter 53 What an Ambitious Young Man

The corridor was brightly lit, and a group of people had gathered in front of the not very crowded operating room, making it appear even narrower.

Samuel sat sternly on a chair, with a cold and indifferent expression, exuding an aura that kept strangers at bay, refusing any attempts to probe.

"Mr. Langford truly lives up to his reputation as an influential figure. After talking with him for only half an hour, Mr. Mason became so excited that he had a cerebral hemorrhage."

Ethan, in his twenties and full of youthful vigor, couldn't help but sarcastically remark about Samuel while his father went to comfort Mr. Mason's family.

Being only a year younger than Samuel, the stark difference in their achievements inevitably left him feeling a bit unbalanced.

"If you're hungry, go home and find your mommy. Don't bark aimlessly at Mr. Langford."

Samuel remained silent, but Dale, standing beside him, couldn't hold back and retorted quietly to Ethan, controlling his expression.

Ethan widened his eyes, surprised that a secretary would dare to speak out like this.

Samuel, with an indifferent expression, glanced at Dale, his eyebrows slightly raised.

"Mr. Mason, I apologize, but for now, we can only stabilize the situation with Mr. Mason and immediately convene a consultation."

A doctor wearing a mask walked out of the operating room and just as he finished speaking, Penelope, who was sitting next to him, nearly collapsed.

The surrounding people supported her but couldn't say much, only offering comforting words.

Samuel, as a witness to the incident, found himself in an awkward position. Benjamin's illness was the result of exhaustion over several days, not solely his responsibility. But at the moment, it seemed as if he had caused Benjamin's condition.

What he wanted was the mining development rights in Benjamin's hands, which several influential families in Xesxia coveted.

The Grayson family, represented by Andrew, was even more prominent than Samuel's own father. The Logan family also had father and son making a move, while the other families were determined, each trying their best to please the Mason family.

Looking around, only Samuel was standing alone, but he didn't fall behind. On the contrary, his youth and abilities, his all-around excellence, made everyone else pale in comparison. As a result, several families were considering joining forces.

Penelope was sent to rest, leaving only Cameron, Benjamin's son, behind. But he was also nearly fifty years old and clearly unable to hold up.

"Cameron, take a break. I'll have Ethan watch over here." Alexander, an old fox of many years, seized the opportunity to intervene.

Cameron waved his hand, leaning against the wall and sitting next to Samuel. "No need, I, as his son, must stay with Mr. Mason no matter how difficult it gets. Everyone has been busy all day, and now I don't have the energy to take care of everyone."
