Chapter 64 She Swallowed a Ring

The waiter delivering their wine knocked on the door. Tina sighed in relief, knowing that this topic was finally behind her.

"Miss Lynd, here is your wine," the waiter said.

The waiter expertly opened the bottle, put wine into a decanter, and swirled it twice before filling glasses for them.

Tina grumbled as she peered at the label. "Is this an opened bottle of wine?"

The waiter shook his head. "No, it's just our own wine."

Tina had a strong suspicion that he was lying. The bottle of wine appeared to be the same one she had drank with Samuel earlier this year. At the time, it looked like there was just this much remaining.

She worried that Walter would notice the wine, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she raised her glass and clinked it against Walter's.

"Mr. Johnson, thank you for your help earlier."

Walter smiled, tilted his head back, and downed the wine. "The wine is good."

Tina felt a bit uneasy. She forced a smile, gently placed the glass to her lips, and took a sip.

It had a rich taste and a delicate aroma.

She had only taken a small sip, but she was almost sure it was that bottle of Latour, which Victoria had personally opened.

Damn! Could Samuel have come back?

It was impossible. Samuel was supposed to stay in Yenornia for at least two or three days. And even if he did come back, it wouldn't be such a coincidence for him to show up at the Red House Restaurant.

Tina's mind was in turmoil. She barely managed to swallow the little red wine in her mouth. The rich aroma slid down her throat, and she suddenly felt like being watched from head to toe.

"What's wrong?" Walter noticed her strange expression and thought he had been caught. He couldn't help but probe.

Tina shook her head. "Nothing, the wine is too strong. I need a moment."

Walter breathed a sigh of relief but couldn't sit still. He tapped the table with one hand.

"How about some dessert?"

Temporarily putting aside the wine, Tina smiled and said, "Sure."

She was about to press the bell, but Walter interrupted, "I ordered it while I was out. They'll bring it soon."

"Okay."

Tina didn't think much of it and took a bite of tempura. Her mind, however, was entangled in the mess caused by that bottle of wine.

The waiter came in with ice cream, placing the strawberry-flavored one in front of Tina. "Enjoy."
