Caught in Love With My Previous CEO novel Chapter 78

Chapter 78 Who Can Escape Fate

Tina casually threw away over four million as a crowd gathered to watch, whispering and gossiping.

Walter stood on the side, his expression unpleasant. When Tina took out the card, he was sure it belonged to Samuel.

"Tina, the final payment has been made. The car should arrive in about two weeks." The contract staff handed the completed contract to Tina.

Tina's expression remained cold as she accepted the contract. "Thank you."

Suddenly, the surroundings fell silent, but one person spoke up, and everyone congratulated Tina on getting a Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Silence enveloped the surroundings. Suddenly, someone started comforting Tina, congratulating her on getting the Rolls-Royce Ghost. However, she couldn't stand anyone and didn't even fake a smile.

Tina was still grieving over that hard-earned promise, and now, she couldn't stand anyone and didn't even bother to fake a smile.

Victor wanted to step forward and say something to ease the situation several times, but Tina's cold demeanor forced him to back off. Feeling even more frustrated, he hesitated with a fawning expression. Meanwhile, Walter pushed through the crowd and directly pulled Tina up from her seat.

Tina had no patience for their nonsense and followed Walter out of the office without a word.

It was already past lunchtime, around two in the afternoon, and the sun shone outside.

Tina didn't beat around the bush. She got into Walter's car and asked him to turn on the air conditioning.

"I'll take a nap; I'm tired."

Walter was a little taken aback. Tina had been unmoved by his pursuit before, but now, she trusted him enough to sleep in his car. This change in attitude was significant.

"Okay, you sleep; I'll watch over you."

Tina didn't care about anything else now. All she wanted now was to sleep; her mind was a mess.

After spending Samuel's five million, she lost the promise of that valuable check-every step she took from now on felt like walking on a tightrope.

Sylvia's voice echoed in her ears, making her tense all over. All the suppressed darkness within her surged forward.

'You brought this upon yourself. Don't blame me for using you as a tool.'

She sighed, relaxed a bit, and drifted off to sleep.

...

After an unknown amount of time, Tina opened her eyes again, and the car was already pitch-dark.

She was startled and immediately sat upright, trying to focus her gaze. Walter was sitting in the driver's seat, playing games on his phone.

Hearing movement behind, Walter tossed his phone aside and turned to look at her. "Awake?"

Tina tugged at her hair, feeling a little embarrassed. "Sorry for wasting your afternoon."

Walter leaned back against the seat, placing his feet on the console.

"No worries, it wasn't wasted. It's just I've been conflicted all afternoon."

Tina had just woken up and couldn't keep up with his thoughts. "What?"

"I was struggling with whether to steal a kiss from you or not." Walter shrugged, clicking his tongue repeatedly. "Several times, I almost couldn't resist."

Tina was speechless and rolled her eyes.

Walter was still excited and couldn't help asking, "Where do you want to have dinner?"
