Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 234

Why did the handwriting suddenly become neat here?

Grandpa's hint was blaring like a neon sign! There was definitely something on the roof.

But, this house was so old, the walls were cracking, even showing signs of collapse.

Eileen didn't dare to climb on the wall, fearing her strength might turn this house into rubble.

So, she wanted Egbert to lift her up, so she could grab the beam next to her and climb up along the beam.

Egbert hesitated for a moment, then seemed to get her drift.

He stepped forward, wrapping his arm around her waist, standing really close, then said, "Not close enough."

Eileen also thought the distance might not be enough, so she wrapped her arms around Egbert's shoulders and said, "Let's give it a shot."

Then, Egbert lifted her up.

Eileen was speechless.

Eileen lied horizontally in Egbert's arms, her hands tightly gripping Egbert's clothes, her eyes staring intently at him, asking, "Why are you holding me horizontally?"

Egbert looked into her eyes, then said, "I did it on purpose."

Eileen was speechless again.

He did it on purpose and he's so blunt about it!

Eileen slapped Egbert's arm, "I'm serious."

In the end, Egbert put her down and walked out of the room.

Eileen was stunned, then she could only call him from behind, "Hey, you, you're not mad, right? Don't be so petty......"

Egbert walked outside the house, then stopped at the side of the wall.

Following his gaze, Eileen saw an old ladder in the corner of the outer wall!

Ten minutes later, Egbert climbed up with the ladder and retrieved a small box from behind the beam.

When Eileen got the box, she shouted out loud, "My music box! This was my favorite toy when I was a kid! Back then my grandpa said I lost it myself, I was so upset for days, turns out my grandpa took it!"

The music box had a combination lock, and Eileen expertly input her birthday.

The music box opened quickly.

Inside was a key, and a tag on the key had the name of a bank.

Eileen held the key, looking up at Egbert, who was also looking at her.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the county town.

Eileen walked to the counter of the bank with the key.

She handed the key to the teller, then that person looked at the key and called the manager.

The manager checked the tag on the key, then looked at Eileen, she's wearing a mask and looked suspicious.

In the end, the manager hesitated but said, "Please follow me."

Five minutes later, Eileen followed the manager into the vault, accompanied by four security guards.

After opening the safe, Eileen saw only three things inside, a letter, some documents, and a bank passbook.

She took out all the items, signed the documents, then walked out of the bank under the watch of the security guards and manager.

Outside, Egbert was waiting for Eileen in the car.

Eileen took the passenger seat. Once settled, she put the three historic items on her lap.

These might be the inheritance left by her grandparents.

And in her previous life, she had no idea about these...

Eileen gently pressed her lips, picking up the letter.

The envelope said —— "To Eileen".

It was her grandpa's handwriting.

"Eileen." At this moment, the man who had been silent beside her suddenly called her name.

Eileen turned her head and looked at Egbert, "Hmm?"

Egbert looked into her eyes, moved closer, reached out to clean the tear stains at the corner of her eyes, "Don't cry."

Only then did Eileen realize that she'd already crying just looking at the envelope. She blinked and nodded, "Okay."
