In the empty room, it was obvious that there was no sound whatsoever.
Eileen felt a bit bummed out.
She looked around, the house was so rundown that it didn't even have a chair.
Eileen just squatted down, gently dusted off the floor, and found a relatively clean spot to sit down.
Sitting on the floor, she hugged her knees tightly and began to chat with her ancestors.
She said, "That Ms. Rosalind is actually really nice to me, but I always feel uncomfortable inside."
She continued, "Yesterday Bartley told me something, I'm not sure if it's true, I want to verify it, but I'm scared that it's real... Ancestors, do you think I'm a child of the Howard family? Anyway, I came here with something, if you think I don't look like one, just return the things to me."
Eileen mumbled to herself for quite a while.
The surrounding remained serene, with no response at all.
Eileen got tired of talking and started staring at the snacks and cake on the table.
After a while, she stood up and grabbed a bag of snacks, "By the way, I came in such a rush, I forgot you guys are old and toothless, you can't eat hard things like chips. Let me help you eat them. Later I'll go into town and buy some flowers to offer you."
Eileen stuffed a chip into her mouth, chewing loudly, and then she continued, "Anyway I am a child of the Howard family, you must accept me. I've become your family, you can't get rid of me."
Getting to this point, Eileen started mumbling again, "And then there's Egbert, he's also an unpredictable factor. I need to find a chance to move out from his place. Ancestors, let me tell you, Egbert is a bad guy, he often bullies me, if you have time, go scare him in his dreams."
Eileen stayed in the room for more than half an hour, she finished what she had to say, and the snacks were almost gone.
Thinking about the promise she made to her ancestors that she couldn't break, she finally stood up, ready to look for the villager who drove her here to take her to buy flowers.
Outside the house was a wasteland, Eileen just stepped out of the threshold, when suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a suspicious male figure by the right outer wall.
Her head quickly turned to the right.
The next second, Eileen's body reacted faster than her brain, and she immediately started to run.
"Ah!" She had just taken half a step when someone harshly grabbed her collar.
Behind her, Egbert's cold voice slowly sounded, "Where do you think you're going?"
Eileen was sweating all over from fear, she hurriedly twisted her wrist, trying to shake off Egbert's hand, struggling like a worm, "Let go of me! Let go of me!"
Egbert frowned, displeased, and let her go.
Eileen immediately lowered her head and tried to run away again.
Behind her, the man's voice rang out again, "Try running again!"
His voice sounded very serious, obviously not joking, Egbert was genuinely angry.
Eileen froze instantly, she turned her head fearfully and looked at Egbert.
Her lips tightly closed, she asked, "Why... why are you here?"
Egbert slowly walked towards her, his eyes were cold, but when he approached her, he still tried to be as gentle as possible, reaching out to fix her messy collar.
He asked in a low voice, "What do you think?"
Eileen thought of a possibility, she touched her backpack, and cautiously asked, "Your computer doesn't have a GPS tracking feature, does it?"
Egbert squinted his eyes and didn't answer.
