Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 342

Eileen stared blankly at her phone screen, her Twitter feed displaying something utterly bizarre.

The company name was "Starlight PR."

Their business? Trolling, managing comments, trash-talking, and reputation laundering.

The note said, during peak times, you'd have to wait in line to get their services.

And the kicker? This was from a fan of Eileen?

Eileen was flabbergasted.

Eileen's fanbase was under attack, apparently.

What in the world was this mess?

Eileen couldn't believe her fans were like this!

It was impossible!

Phyllis Sankner's fans called Phyllis “Honey”!

Bblythe's fans called Bblythe “Babe”!

Sylvia’s fans affectionately referred to Sylvia as “Sylvy”!

Even Paulina's fans had a sweet nickname for her, calling her “Lina Loo”!

And her fans? They referred to her as "that idiot"?

Hell no!

Eileen was livid.

She hadn't even been this angry during her online spat with Egbert, the notorious critic!

This was downright insulting!

Back during the "Defender's Honor" premiere, she clearly remembered fans calling her darling and sweetheart!

Where had those fans gone?

Had they seen through her and unfollowed en masse?

Damn it!

Eileen paced furiously around her room.

Just then, Paulina entered, phone in hand, and blurted out, “I saw people trash-talking you online…”

“Rip!”

Paulina was speechless.

Before she could finish her sentence, she watched as Eileen grabbed a pillow, tore it apart with a fierce pull, sending fluff flying everywhere. The poor pillow was split in two, its innards scattered.

Paulina sighed, took the murdered pillow, and gently advised, “You know how toxic fans can be. When you got together with Egbert, didn’t you think about soothing your fanbase? Losing some fans was inevitable, as was the backlash. But you shouldn’t let these outsiders get to you. It’s not worth it, right?”

“No way!” Eileen wasn’t having any of it. “They’ve crossed the line!”

Understanding yet disagreeing, Paulina patted her shoulder, saying, “Yeah, they’ve crossed the line. But that’s how fans are. They only see their idols. Remember that couple who announced their relationship? Both equally famous and talented, but their fans were at each other's throats, calling him a jerk and her a gold-digger. Fans always hope for their breakup. It's pretty standard. And look at you, at least you can fight back. Didn’t you hit back at them on Twitter?”

Eileen scoffed, “Fight back? It’s a joke. I can’t out-tweet them! They have hundreds of people! They type faster than paid posters! They can spam tens of thousands of comments in a minute!”

Paulina was confused, “Hundreds of people?”

Eileen was determined, “I can’t lose to them! I need to develop a program that auto-trashes them back. Only tech can save me now! Where’s my laptop?”

As Eileen frantically searched for her laptop, Paulina tried to catch up, “Wait, what do you mean by hundreds of employees?”

“My fans!” Eileen showed her phone to Paulina, gritting her teeth.

Paulina’s face froze as she read the tweet, “Starlight PR’s boss is your fan?”

Eileen glared, “Thanks for rubbing salt in the wound!”

Paulina quickly explained, “No, no, you don’t get it. Starlight PR is the biggest social media manipulation firm in the industry.”

Paulina lowered her voice, confessing, “The smear campaign against Aurora? That was their doing on my behalf. Cost a pretty penny but totally worth it. Aurora’s career hit rock bottom, and I’m loving it.”

Eileen snatched her phone back, exasperated, “You don’t understand me at all!”

Paulina was puzzled, “Aren’t they helping you?”
