Phoenix said with a dreamy sigh, "Someday, I'll have a flock of sheep, a rose garden, a vineyard, a dog, and maybe a couple of kids. It all feels like a dream, you know? I can hardly believe that after waiting for eighteen years, my dream is finally coming true. Tell me, Septima, is this real?"
Seeing Phoenix lost in her blissful reverie made Agnes genuinely happy for her. "It's real, Phoenix. You and Sean will soon live that happy life together."
Their plans were bold and daring.
They would leave right after the wedding reception.
Because every minute Sean spent in the country was a minute filled with danger.
And Phoenix could hardly wait to start their new life together, just the two of them.
The estate in Australia was her dream come true.
Even Agnes found herself longing for such a life upon hearing about it.
Phoenix's smile was radiant.
Then, she took Nate's hand and placed it in Agnes's, saying, "Septima, please, look after Nate for me."
Agnes had already planned to take Nate back with her to Willowbrook Town, not comfortable with the idea of leaving him alone in Manhattan.
But as it turned out, Nate did come back, only to stay at Phoenix's place.
Now that Phoenix was leaving, she was naturally worried about Nate.
Though she had left her apartment to Nate.
"Don't worry," Agnes assured her. "Tomorrow, Nate will come back to Willowbrook Town with me. He'll live with me from now on."
Agnes had always been concerned about Nate, seeing him as a child despite his genius intellect. Nate's autism made it difficult for him to look after himself, and Agnes couldn't bear the thought of him being alone.
"I want to stay here," Nate suddenly spoke up, surprising both Agnes and Phoenix.
"Why do you want to stay here? Isn't living with me nice?" Agnes asked, puzzled.
