Originally, Beatrice just wanted to test the waters and see if Jared knew about Agnes and Elton's relationship. She didn't expect Jared to be so protective of Agnes, afraid of her being misunderstood by the Whitfield family.

Tim laughed, saying, "Beatrice is so innocent and lively, Jared; just pick a piece for her."
