Agnes asked, "So she's Alyssa, huh? Hamish, I just wanna know, what was going on between Alyssa and Julia twenty years ago? Any gossip about them?"
Hamish furrowed his brows, as if trying to recall.
He then said, "If my memory serves me right, they were two peas in a pod, best buds in the entertainment industry. But for some reason, they had a falling out. Alyssa went abroad for a few years, your mom got hitched and said sayonara to the showbiz. I've no clue about what happened afterwards. It's all ancient history, after all."
Agnes felt like a weight had sunk in her chest.
Just as she thought, Alyssa and her mother were once as thick as thieves.
But Alyssa claimed she never heard of her.
There must be something fishy going on.
Agnes asked a few more questions, but Hamish's answers were vague.
He seemed reluctant to spill the beans.
Agnes was down in the dumps all day.
She decided to get the lowdown from Beatrice.
Beatrice couldn't stand Mamie's shenanigans and quit the show.
The director didn't even try to keep her, not a single word of consolation.
She was fuming in her dressing room, so furious that she chucked all of Mamie's makeup on the floor and stomped on them.
Agnes just happened to witness the whole scene.
