Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 387

Agnes declared, "I need to confront the blonde man and ask him directly who's after me."

By midday, Agnes and Jared made their way to the police precinct.

Inside the interrogation chamber, she finally laid eyes on the blonde man.

He stared back at her, eyes wide with shock, resembling someone who'd witnessed the supernatural.

Terror was evident on his face.

Upon closer inspection, Agnes realized that he was significantly injured. While others sported mere scratches, this man was missing an ear.

Before she could utter a word, the blonde man seemed ready to prostrate himself. "Miss, I deeply regret my actions. I beg for your forgiveness. I promise, it won't happen again."

Narrowing her eyes, Agnes challenged, "How do you recognize me?"

He hesitated momentarily before admitting, "I've seen your photograph. You're Agnes, the renowned actress. My greed blinded me, and I didn't recognize you. Had I known, I would never have dared cross paths with you, regardless of my courage."

"Who put you up to this?"

"I don't know who the girl is. She gave me five grand and your photo at the bar. She wanted me to hurt you, then take some nude photos of you. She promised another ten grand once the job was done."

Agnes started shaking after hearing this.

Someone wanted to take nude photos of her.

Who could hate her so much?

Jared stepped forward, grabbing the blond dude's collar, coldly saying, "Think carefully. If we can't find the person behind this, you're the one that's going to go down for it. You better get ready for a lifetime in jail."

The blond dude was really scared: "I've told you everything I know. The girl wore a hat and a mask, I have no idea who she is."

The blond dude tried to remember further, then suddenly said: "But the girl had a mole at the corner of her eye. That's the only thing I saw. I really don't know anything else."

Agnes stepped back when she heard this.
