When Daphne got home, the door opened by itself before she had even touched it.
Immediately after, her mom dragged her into the house and asked a series of questions without stopping.
"Daphne, how was the date? Were you late again? Is he an eligible bachelor? How was your conversation with him? Did you exchange your phone numbers? When are you going out on a second date? Do you want to invite him home..."
Daphne' s head was already hurting. Her headache instantly got even worse upon hearing all the questions from her mom.
She took a deep breath and said quickly, "Mom, I did well tonight. Though I was late for a few minutes, he didn't mind it. I'm not sure if he's very eligible, but his looks are pretty good. We only had a casual chat and, no, we did not exchange phone numbers nor arrange for a second date. There is also no need to invite him home. Mom, I’m exhausted. I'm going back to my room!"
Once she was done, Daphne ran back to her room and slammed the door shut without giving her mother a chance to say another word.
Then, she buried herself under her covers and pretended not to hear her mom knocking on the door from the outside.
Daphne had lost count of the number of blind dates she had been on.
However, she had never been this upset as she did this day. Somehow and for some reason, she was flustered.
Maybe Raphael's words did move her. She also tried to brainwash herself into saying yes to his request. However, she just could not forget Harry. There was just no way for her to forget him.
She hated herself for being such a sentimental fool.
Harry was getting engaged, so why was she still holding onto her feelings for him?
Daphne hated herself deeply for doing so.
What happened to her decision to be nonchalant in front of Harry? What about her decision to marry someone else?
