His Charming Smile novel Chapter 8

Daphne tried to break free from Raphael's grip once she had finished her words and was surprised to find that she was able to do so easily.

She glared at him and said coldly, "Goodbye!" Then, she turned around and left.

Raphael was still frozen on the spot from the shock he had got while listening to Daphne's rambling speech. His mind was so preoccupied with what she had said that he remained in a daze for a long while. He did not even notice that she was gone.

When he finally snapped out of his thoughts, Daphne was nowhere to be seen.

He let out a long sigh of relief. Then, with a gloomy face, he made a phone call while he calmed himself down.

Daphne stormed to the first floor. The melodious sounds of the violin reminded her of her state of mind when she first arrived, which was drastically different from how it was now.

She felt nothing but utter disgust after realizing that she went on a blind date with, and even got smitten by the looks of, a guy who already had a lover and a child.

How could there be such a hypocritical man in this world? He was doing such despicable things under that cloak of a gentleman.

What a waste of those looks!

While she was deep in her thoughts, her phone rang suddenly. Daphne took a deep breath and answered it without even checking the caller's identity.

"Hello?!" Even Daphne herself could tell that she wasn't in a good mood from her tone.

The caller might have been taken aback by her rude tone and went silent for a few seconds. Then, a soft female voice said, "Excuse me, is this Dr. Goodwin? I am the pregnant lady whose life you saved today..."

Daphne's face flushed red after the call. Her cheeks felt burning hot as if she had been b*tch-slapped across her face.

It turned out that the pregnant woman, whom Raphael was very concerned about in the afternoon, was not his lover but his older sister.

Oh dear, what had happened?

Daphne felt exceedingly embarrassed!

She had just given Raphael a good scolding.

Now all she wanted was to bury herself in the ground in shame.

Daphne stood in the same spot for a long time with her phone in hand. At last, she gritted her teeth and went back upstairs.
