Geoffrey finished Adira’s volleyball game. 
He looked at the scoreboard and saw 25-20 set number two, favored on the other team. Adira’s team, White Eagle lost against Blue Snake team. 
The players from White Eagle were all crying, except for Adira who’s eating her chips at the side while looking up the sky. 
“Damn. She’s cool,” Geoffrey murmured while watching her from afar.
Not only she is cool, but also smart, strong, pretty, and sexy. 
Geoffrey has no ideal type. Maybe because he’s not interested in dating. But after meeting Adira, Geoffrey found out that his ideal type is someone whose name is Adira. 
After the game, Geoffrey stepped a bit closer to the White Eagle’s bench. He really wanted to introduce himself to the lady who’s been in his mind for a long time. He anticipated and waited for their next meeting, and now that it happened, he does not want to lose his chance. 
Therefore, the shy Geoffrey began to march closer to her along with the loud beating of his heart.
“Hi Adira.” 
But he stopped when another guy approached the lady. 
Everyone looked at Adira’s side, as well as the man who is famous around different university. The handsome man who stood before her is basketball player. He won a lot of matches and is adored by many students in universities. 
Staring at the tall man, Adira put her snack on the side. She held her aching nape because she felt uncomfortable staring upon the tall guy. 
She stood up from the bench and stared at him. 
“Who are you?” she asked. 
Buzzes echoed around the place. They were so shocked that Adira doesn’t know the famous varsity player like him. 
The flustered man went red. He also did not expect that he would have to introduce himself when his name was known to many. 
“Elliot Hendrix. I am Elliot Hendrix,” he shyly said. 
Everyone watched intently at the scene before them, including Geoffrey. 
A handsome man and a beautiful woman. The scene is so beautiful, as if they came out of a romantic book. 
Meanwhile, Adira looked apathetically at the handsome and tall man who made her nape ache. 
Actually, she can recognize Elliot. However, when she asked him who he was, she was actually asking what the hell his business is with her. 
“For a long time, I’ve been watching your games, Adira,” the man said. “And I adored you so much.” 
“...” 
“So, I picked my courage to ask you this.” 
Suddenly, the man went on his knees and showed her the bouquet of flowers he’s been hiding behind his back. 
“Whoooooooooooooo!” All bystanders cheered excitedly. 
Adira’s co-players also joined the cheering, even though they just been crying before. The winning team, which should be the spotlight of the events, momentarily forgot their triumph as they also watched the romantic confession laid bare in their eyes. 
However, there’s only one person who did not have fun while watching. It is Geoffrey, who has his eyes wide open. 
He hated it. 
He hated that someone made a move to Adira before him, just because he hesitated a lot. 
“Adira Hale,” Elliot said. “Will you be my girlfriend?!” 
“Whooooooooo!” loud cheers became even more wild. 
Geoffrey clenched his fist while watching the painful scene. 
Adira slowly got the flower from his hand. Thinking that she accepted him, Elliot stood up with a proud smile on his face. But as soon as he faced Adira again, he was bombarded with the truth. 
“Sorry. I don’t want to date anyone.” 
“...” 
Silence came.
Adira looked at the flowers in her hands and wondered why many women feel happy when they received one. She thinks it isn’t special or whatsoever. 
And also,” Adira said to the man who was rooted on his spot. “Don’t confess when a girl loses from a match. It does not suit to the situation.” 
She gave the bouquet back and even tapped his shoulder. 
“Ahhh, you’re so tall. My neck hurts,” she whispered while getting her unfinished chips from the bench. 
The shocked crowd watched Adira turn her back against Elliot. 
“W-Wait!” Elliot, who did not want to give up, called her again. “Does it mean, I could confess again if your team won a match?” 
Adira stopped walking.
She looked back at him then smiled. 
“If the White Eagles win, I’ll date you.” 
Since then, the White Eagle never won a game, until Adira quit from the volleyball club. 
Geoffrey felt so happy that Adira did not date the handsome Elliot. However, it gave him a lot of traumas that he eradicated his plan of introducing himself to her. 
Adira wasn’t interested in dating. Geoffrey feared that he might experience the same fate as Elliot if he acts impulsively. 
So then, Adira became Geoffrey’s campus crush; the first woman he had a crush on aside from the old ice cream vendor whom he had a crush when he was 6 years old. 
Geoffrey followed Adira around the campus. He discovered all her favorite hang-out places, color, food, hobbies and even her favorite celebrities. He even tried to copy the hairstyle of every idol man Adira likes. 
He was so into her that Geoffrey already forgot the person who gave him his birthday gift before.
One day, Geoffrey got into a wrong class. Rooms were reshuffled and he made a mistake going inside the class that isn’t his. 
“Oh no,” he gasped. 
He was about to go and left but stopped when he saw Adira come. 
“Hello handsome. Can I get your seat?” Adira talked to him. 
‘She talked to me. She is here, talking to me!’ Geoffrey panicked. 
He couldn’t believe that Adira came here in front of him again, trying to steal his favorite seat. 
His heart beats so fast, he skipped breathing with each pound. Turning red from his neck to his ears, Geoffrey gawked at the beautiful lady. 
He really wanted to know if she remembered him, although that would be impossible. 
‘I wanted her to know me. I wanted Adira know that I exist,’ Geoffrey told to himself. 
So he opened his lips and…
“Of course. Y-You can have it.” 
He stood up and moved away from him. 
‘Damn it!’ 
He’s so mad at himself for being so coward. 
Biting his lips and silently cursing at himself, Geoffrey was about to go and walk away. 
“Oh, the thing I scribbled is still in this table,” Adira murmured. 
Geoffrey’s feet halted, and he was rooted to the spot. 
“I thought they would repaint the desk. But the scribble I made is still here,” she added. 
Slowly, Geoffrey looked back at Adira. 
Sitting on his favorite seat, Adira’s finger traced the scribbles above the table. It is the birthday message that Geoffrey got on his birthday. 
Finally, after many long times, Geoffrey discovered that that the person who gave him the special gift is none other the woman who stole his heart. 
He believed it was fate that made him meet Adira.
 
“Geoffrey,” he uttered in a low tone while looking at her. 
But Adira did not hear him.
So, with a loud voice, Geoffrey shouted, “Geoffrey!” 
Everyone inside the classroom stopped and looked at the man who just shouted his name. Among them is Adira, who’s staring at the weird man in front of her.
