Married with the Broken Hearted CEO novel Chapter 75

Early in the morning, Isa went out to walk on the shore. She could hear the sounds of waves applauding and hugging the shore, an internal pleasant sound of the body out in the world’s biggest pool.
She inhaled the salty smell of the wind, so strong that it dances on her taste buds. Carrying her sandals, Isa looked at the ocean that looks exceptionally blue today with a slight green undertone. The surface looked as though it was covered with millions of diamonds crashing with the waves and kissing the white sand.
It feels like standing on a coarse cloud that she could just sleep into, as the sand went between her feel. The water is teasing her toes and running back into hiding. Repeating the cycle getting closer and closer each time until she felt the rush of the current under her and the sand being pulled out from between her toes and back into the ocean.
The sea really has the ability to let someone relax, to take a break and melt worries and distractions. But no matter how majestic that power it holds, Isa still can’t find the peace she’s looking for.
Walking alone, she recalled the incident last night repeatedly.
When Chadwick and Adira left the pool, her stepbrother pulled her to talk.
With eyes which show no tenderness, Geoffrey only told her a few things which stuck deep into her bones.
[“This is my last warning, Isa. If you don’t stop, you won’t like what I will do in the future.”]
She thought it would make her happy to get her stepbrother’s attention. Instead of being ignored, Geoffrey now came to find her and talk to her first. But the happiness and contentment did not come.
For a moment, she wondered if she was really wrong.
‘Was it really wrong to get what I want?’
‘Was it really wrong to make them realize that they are being brainwashed by the sly fox?’
For Isa, Adira is someone who does not deserve love from both guys. She couldn’t even understand what they saw in that woman that they are swooning over her. She’s emotionless and selfish. She can’t stand a woman like her stole both Geoffrey and Chadwick, and so even if she’s scared from the outcome that she might face in the future, she won’t stop; not until she can wake up the two from Adira’s spell.
While walking onto the seashore, isa saw two familiar figures from afar. They are secretaries of the two big companies’ CEO, Hansel and Neil.
Early in the morning, Isa spotted them carrying bags, picnic towel and cooler as if they will set a picnic out somewhere.
Isa squinted her eyes at the two suspicious people. Curious what they were about to do, Isa followed them from great distance. She tiptoed on the white sand, following the two.
“Why are we really doing this?” Hansel asked Neil.
Neil, who’s carrying the cooler, looked at Hansel and answered, “This is for our bosses. Last night, I heard that the two did not sleep in the same room again.”
“Ahh, really?”
“This is your fault, miss Hansel.”
“Pardon? Why is it my fault?”
“This is all happened because you pushed miss Isa in the water. Now they became colder to each other.”
“Huh,” Hansel snorted. “Excuse me? I did not push that woman in the water.”
“Whatever the case, what’s done is done. Now we had to really fix their problem.”
“And by doing this?”
“You know…” Neil stopped and looked at Hansel. “I heard from the villagers that there is a special cave in that place.” He pointed in the direction. “Every 5pm, couple go there and spend the night together. It says that the cave will strengthen relationships. So we’re off to create the ambiance in the cave and let our bosses spend their nights together.”
“Really?” Hansel replied. “Do you really think their relationship will get better?”
“Of course! Who knows, maybe another miracle might happen inside the cave.”
Seeing the grin on Neil’s lips, Hansel stepped back, feeling disgusted. ‘This idiot,’ Hansel said in her mind.
“So shall we go now?” Neil asked.
“Anyway, what time shall we bring them in the cave?” Hansel responded.
“Ahmmm, about 5pm? I heard you should go visit the cave at the time.”
After they talked about the cave and the time, Hansel and Neil slowly traced the place where Isa was hiding. They looked at each other and nodded their heads. Then, they set off towards the cave direction.
While hiding, Isa let out small sardonic giggles.
“They will spend the night inside a cave?” Isa murmured while hiding. “As if I will let them,” she added before she followed the two again.
----------------------------------
Adira woke up on the bed in Hansel’s room. She took a quick bath, changed into another pair of shirts and short-short, and went out to the villa.
Her stomach is looking for food, as she felt like she lost all her energy last night.
Alone, Adira entered the cottage where she could get food.
“Good morning.”
Adira stopped walking, and she looked back at the man who greeted her. It is her husband, Chadwick.
As if she did not see anyone and anything, Adira tilted her head to the opposite side and walked away.
“Hey,” Chadwick called, chasing her. He blocked her way and about to hold her hand but…
“No touching,” Adira said after avoiding his touch. “I hate being touched early in the morning,” she added with a fake smile on her lips.
Coming from her who never lost the chance to touch Chadwick before. Of course, Chadwick won’t bring up how she acted in the past and complain right now. He just took a deep breath before he raised both of his hands. Next, he put it behind his back.
“No touching. I got,” Chadwick said. “I came here to ask you something.”
Adira crossed her arms and looked at him, waiting.
“Can we have breakfast together?”
As if she did not hear anything, Adira walked past him and went to sit on the cottage counter.
Chadwick clicked his tongue and sighed again. Then he followed her and sat beside her.
Adira looked at the back of the staff. She knocked on the table, about to give her order, but stopped when the staff turned around.
“Oh? Good morning,” Geoffrey greeted Adira.
Chadwick gaped at the sight of the man in the cottage’s kitchen.
“What are you doing there?” Adira asked Geoffrey. “Don’t tell me you’re working here too?”
Smiling, Geoffrey answered, “This is my stepfather’s resort. So, I came here to help.”
Chadwick rolled his eyes at the lame excuses. He knew that Geoffrey decided to stay here because of his wife.
“Ahhh, I almost forgot that” Adira replied. She placed her elbows on the counter and rested her chin at the back of her hands. “So, can I get my order? I’m pretty hungry, dear staff.”
Geoffrey nodded his head. “Sure. What do you want to eat? Our guest.”
“Anything that is edible and delicious.”
“I got it.”
Feeling outcast, Chadwick butted into their conversation. “I wanted to order my breakfast too. Give me a…”
“Who said that I will cook your breakfast?” Geoffrey told Chadwick, staring at him with contempt. The brightness on his face disappeared as soon as Geoffrey laid his eyes on Chadwick.
“W-What?” Chadwick uttered in disbelief.
“I don’t want to cook for you, Sir,” Geoffrey replied then gave him a sardonic cold smile.
“I didn’t know that the staff here have discrimination against their guests,” Chadwick chuckled sarcastically.
“Well, for your information, I am not an official staff in this resort. I only came here to serve one person.” Then, Geoffrey pointed out Adira.
Chadwick looked alternately at the annoying Geoffrey and his wife who’s waiting for his response.
‘So, this is how you’ll act? You bastard,’ Chadwick told himself before he stood up.
“Alright, alright. I will cook for myself.”
Chadwick walked inside the kitchen. He stood up beside Geoffrey while gritting his teeth.
Adira stayed sitting on her seat while looking at the two, who were glaring at each other, as if soon, lasers will shoot out from their sharp eyes.
She knew it will be tiring to deal with her husband and the man who likes her, but she’s too lazy to get out and decided to stay and watch their childish clash.
