Mistaking an Alpha for a Pimp novel Chapter 4

Amelia POV

My babies eyes widened in shock as I told them their dad was no more. I almost got hit head against the dashboard of the car as the driver Gloria had sent to pick us up suddenly slammed his brakes hard. I threw him a dirty look and before I could complain he had begun to apologize.-

"I'm sorry about that, I was just distracted for a second." He said.

I rolled my eyes and accepted his apologies. I had greater issues before me than to take up a little mistake with him. There was no way I would tell my kids their father was alive because they were smart and would want to know who he was. I was doing us all a favor by keeping the fact that he was a pimp from them.

"So... You mean he's not our father?" Jonas asked with a raised brow.

"Absolutely not," I said with a smile.

The smile on their faces dissipated slowly and their excitement vanished. I got hurt because I felt like I had taken away their happiness from then and replaced it with disappointment but it was rather than letting them think their father was Gloria's brother or so.

"I'm sorry kids but it also hurts me to speak of him. I miss him more than you all do but his death came as a shock to me which is why I never told you about it so kindly apologize to the young man for calling him your dad." I said regretfully.

"We're sorry." They all chorused.

The man chuckled and waved it off, the whole car soon fell silent, and not a word was heard from anyone. Half an hour later; they all fell asleep as I looked out the window of the car. I heard the man clear his throat.

"Permit me to ask and forgive me if it seems rude or an invasion of privacy, but; how did their father die?" The man asked me.

I sighed, it was hard to lie to everyone about this but I had no choice.

"In a car accident, when I was heavily pregnant with the triplets, he got into an accident and died," I said, my voice shaky trying to make it believable.

"I'm sorry about that." He apologized.

"It's fine, it's just very traumatizing having to tell them their dad is dead, I thought I'd do that when they're older," I said and smiled sadly.

"Your kids are not only adorable but intelligent as well." He complimented.

"Oh thank you!" I said with a smile and then he took a sharp turn and drove straight into a huge mansion.

It was one of the biggest I'd ever seen and the scenery was breathtaking, he pulled over in front of the mansion and got out of the car, he held the car door for me and helped me carry Jonas and Ralph while I carried Freya in as they were still sound asleep. The furnishings of the mansion was lavish and out of this world and I couldn't help but Darren in wonder and disbelief.

I walked closely behind him as he ascended the stairs and opened the door to the first room we saw, the interiors were divine and it was spacious. He helped me lay the kids on the bed and after explaining how to get whatever it was I'd need he turned to leave but stopped by the door.

"There's a party tonight, I'm throwing it so if you want to blow off some steam you're welcome to attend, I'm especially inviting you, and don't worry about the kids, there are maids to take care of them. I'd send one of them to you with the details and help you with whatever you want." He said politely.

"Thank you, I'd be honored," I replied.

"Very well, I'll see you tonight then." He said briefly and left.
