Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 643

Martin and Kayla stayed in the study for nearly half an hour. No one dared to interrupt them, and no one knew what they were talking about inside.

Bria used to be terrified of Draven. But Kayla frightened her even more.

It wasn't just pressure from an elder. It felt like meeting a natural enemy—like a mouse seeing a cat.

After disappearing for a while, Bria quietly returned and found Ayla again. She grabbed Ayla's arm and whispered, "Aren't you scared of her? I saw you talk with her earlier! You're seriously brave!"

Ayla did feel a sense of respect and caution toward Kayla. Still, if she hadn't done anything wrong, there was no reason to be as frightened as Bria. The only slightly awkward thing between them was that Ayla had broken up with Draven.

But Kayla had actually hoped they would separate, so she probably wasn't upset about it. Because of that, Ayla didn't feel real fear. What she felt instead was the quiet pressure that naturally came from Kayla's strong presence.

"It's just a normal greeting and conversation with an elder," Ayla said, trying to reassure her. "If you haven't done anything wrong, she won't target you. So, you don't need to be so nervous around her."

Bria thought for a moment. "That's true," she admitted. "Kayla never loses her temper. But somehow I'm still scared of her. I honestly admire my dad. How did he even catch her eye when he was young?"

As the youngest in the family, Bria behaved one way around elders and a completely different way around people her own age.

She was proud of her social skills and knew how to act sweet when needed. In fact, she was starting to think about asking her dad for advice. If she could learn how he managed to win someone like Kayla, then who else could escape her grasp? Maybe one day Kaleb will flatter her every day and treat her like royalty.

Bria was just about to keep gossiping when the study door suddenly opened. Kayla walked out, wearing the same calm smile as always. No one could tell what she was thinking. Even Bria—who could be bold and playful most of the time—went quiet the moment she saw Kayla.

Out of everyone there, Carmen was the one who most desperately wanted Kayla to leave. But Kayla clearly had no plans to go anywhere. Instead, she walked toward Ayla. Her eyes settled on Ayla's calm, steady gaze. "Let's talk," Kayla said.

Under that calm but powerful look, Ayla found it impossible to refuse.

Soon, the two of them were walking together in the garden behind the house.

Ayla stayed quietly at Kayla's side. She said nothing, because she had no idea what Kayla wanted to discuss. Her mind filled with questions and guesses.

But since she couldn't figure it out, she simply let the thoughts go. Instead, she focused on the path beneath her feet as they walked.
