Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 246

She felt like she was about to collapse and wanted to find a place to sit for a moment.

Evan remained where he was, not following her. But after a brief moment of surprise, he quickly caught up, took her wrist, and tucked her arm into his.

“Don’t forget, we have a contract.”

Just as Emma was about to flare up, Evan reminded her with a calm expression.

*What a ruthless capitalist,* she thought.

The two walked into the estate together. There were many people attending the party tonight.

The host was Trevor Golding, the only son of the chairman of Golding Enterprises.

Emma wasn’t familiar with him and had never even interacted with him before. So when Trevor came over to chat with Evan, she just stood by his side, smiling the entire time, essentially serving as a decorative backdrop.

“Mrs. Cooper?”

Leaning around Evan, Trevor raised his wine glass and swirled it at Emma. “A pleasure to finally meet you. I hope you’ll enjoy the evening!”

Others might not have known, but Trevor, as the host, was well aware that Evan had arranged this party specifically for Emma; it was just under his name.

Aside from Daniel, almost no one knew that Emma and Evan were divorced.

So, as Trevor looked at the couple, he was curious but just assumed they were playing some sort of game.

“Well, well, Trevor. Who are these two?”

A woman in a light blue poufy dress, teetering on sky-high heels, slowly approached.

Vivian smiled, raised her glass to Evan, and then took a delicate sip of wine.

“Mr. Cooper, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

With that, Vivian lowered her glass, her gaze shifting to Emma at Evan’s side.

“Mrs. Cooper… you know, you look a little familiar!”

Vivian’s eyes lit up as if she suddenly remembered Emma clearly. “We met at the Foley charity gala! Do you remember, Mrs. Cooper? I believe you were wearing this very dress, and Nathan was the one who introduced us!”

Vivian was very familiar with the dress Emma was wearing because that mermaid gown was originally supposed to be hers. The fact that Emma had snatched it away later was something she remembered all too well.

Having her dress taken made her feel a familiar sense of crisis, like having a man stolen from her.
