His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 511

Paul POV

I haven’t heard from my father since he told me he was turning the pack over to Isaiah and Kaia. I’m still feeling bitter about it, and my fucking wolf, Lupin, keeps berating me.

I hear two nights of parties. The first night was for the Alpha Ceremony, and tonight is the Luna Ceremony. I felt all the pack members' tethers snap when they accepted Isaiah yesterday. I’m officially packless. I felt myself weakened from the tethers snapping. I can’t say I’m not hurt, because I am.

The only ones still tethered to me are the warriors and John, my Gamma. They are here in the dungeons with me. John said that Isaiah stripped him of his title before throwing him in the dungeons. Aric hasn’t been here at all. He must have switched teams. Fucking traitor.

My father said to be ready, but he didn’t tell me for what. I don’t know what he is planning, but he's always upright, so it’s unlikely he'll help me get my pack back. Maybe I can start a new pack. I can take John and my loyal warriors with me. Maybe Isaiah will allow it.

‘Idiot. Do you think he is going to allow you to walk out of here with your own entourage? I can’t believe the Moon Goddess paired me with you,’ Lupin said.

‘Shut the fuck up, Lupin. I am allowed to think of all possibilities,’ I said.

‘Not if those possibilities have a zero percent chance of happening, dumbass.’

He huffed again and went to the back of my mind. He is salty about Kaia. I admit I was wrong about her, and I probably should have handled things differently, but it no longer matters. What I want to know now is how long do they intend to keep me here?

Isaiah POV

Kaia walks into my office with hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and pistachios. She said she was really craving this, and at least it sounds better than strawberry jam on scrambled eggs.

“What is my manly alpha doing?” she purred.

I chuckled. “Going over financials. Lots of things don’t make sense, trouble.”

She smiled, “Want me to look over it?”

“I don’t want to put any stress on you or our pup, trouble,” I said, pulling her onto my lap. I took a sip of her hot chocolate and spit it out.

“What did you put in that?”

“Oh, I added hot sauce to it. Isn’t it good?!” she said, smiling.
